3ONE6 Stainless Steel Double Edge Safety Razor | The Daily Shave

Edwin Jagger 3ONW6 Stainless Steel DE Safety Razor
Matt here with another Daily Shave video. Today’s shave is a safety razor review/first impressions of Edwin Jagger’s latest offering, the 3ONE6 safety razor.
The Razor: Edwin Jagger 3ONE6 Stainless Steel. This razor has a nice finish and design. The profile is slimmer and the head less bulky than the DE89, making it a bit more maneuverable. The deep (and sharp!) knurling makes this razor extremely tacky - no chance of slippage here. The head design reminds me of a souped up tech, with its lack of bulk, slim profile and lather channels. There is a matte finish to the head, but a high shine on the collar and tail end of the handle. The razor is surprisingly light, 75g, for a steel razor (maybe the handle is hollow?), which adds to the maneuverability. I used this razor about two weeks and there was a little learning curve with this one. Don’t get lulled into a false sense of security by the smoothness of the shave - there is some edge to this razor. Compared with the DE89, which is for me a comfortable but mild shaver (though a bit too mild for my liking), the 3ONE6 is a decent step up in aggression, at the upper end of mid-aggressive, but still retains smoothness and has more usable angles. The 3ONE6 quickly became a very nice daily driver, taking down my stubble without the need for extra buffing or over-shaving, falling squarely in my wheelhouse for smoothness and efficiency.
The Brush: West Coast Shaving Infinity Brush with a 30mm TurnNShave “The Tip” 2-band badger fan knot. This US artisan-made brush handle is a unique ergonomic and comfortable shape. It’s a stunning brush handle for a competitive price. Look out for the weekly brush drops, with a mix of complete brushes, either synthetic or badger, and separate handles.
The Soap: WCS Chypre. (Duck fat Canard base by Oleo Soapworks). The scent is a 7/10 scent strength with a predominant lemon-lime sparkling citrus top over a mossy patchouli base. This lather is thirsty (but not finicky), with a wonderful creamy and fatty feel on the face. Latherability, slickness, cushion, and post are outstanding. The matching splash is alcohol based but contains some nice skin food as well. The scent is a crowd pleaser and versatile.
Tip of the Day: Check out my tips on how to bowl lather with a badger knot, featuring the preeminent Pereira unbreakable lathering bowl.

I assume since the Edwin Jagger 3ONE6 hit the shelves, there really aren't many mountains left to climb. Frankly, this is the definitive safety razor. I understand the Edwin Jagger 3ONE6 Knurled as the final solution to the issue of finding the perfect safety razor. I've tried a few tens of DE safety razors but this one is the only one to embody the real perfection. Since the Edwin Jagger started producing the 3ONE6, there's no point looking for improvements - simply because there's nothing left to be improved. The shave is absolute. Does a man need an extremely smooth razor? Here it is! Does a man need an aggressive, highly efficient razor? Here it is! The Edwin Jagger 3ONE6 integrates immeasurable smoothness with high efficiency, plus excellent material and finish. Frankly, I can't imagine any producer taking it further. No other safety razor (except perhaps the HLS Colibri) can compete with Edwin Jagger 3ONE6 Knurled.

I notice you never rinse your face between passes. Great video. Is the 3one6 a big step up from the DE89 that I am using at the moment?

Looking to get this or RazoRock Game Changer.68. Which would you say is the least aggressive? I’m fairly new to DE shaving after years of cartridges. Started off with lots of skin irritation but all settled down now, I’m using muhle r106 and shave daily.

Razorock .68 Gamechanger is definitely less aggressive. IMO even the .84 is also less aggressive than the 3one6.

Thanks for the review, it was helpful. I just cannot decide to purchase 3one6 or Game changer 0.84. The game changer seems more suitable for daily shaving than 3one6 to me. What is your opinion? I"d like to listen your comparison both razors.

I have both. Of course everyone’s face and tolerances are different, but for me the gamechanger 84 is a little more mild than this one (while still being efficient), for me it is a better daily driver than the 3one6. But if u like a bit more efficiency, the 3one6 will deliver.

This is a good razor, a great shaver in fact. However, it is a bit pricey for what you get. My Rockwell 6s still gives me a more comfortable bbs shave and the 6s is far more versatile.

Nice shave. The one your using has the heavy handle. The other coloured handles are lighter. So do you reccomend this razor?

Chris Spertos I would if you are looking for a a lighter weight steel razor on the upper end of medium aggressiveness it is worth checking out. It’s not an autopilot razor (at least for me) though like the DE89. There is some edge to this razor. Hope this helps
