Today I'm going to show you how to make an incredibly delicious and juicy poppy seed and plum cake. This cake is the perfect combination of sweet plums and aromatic poppy seeds - an absolute must for all cake lovers!

Dough:
200 g low-fat quark (7 oz)
100 g sugar (1/2 cup)
100 ml milk (1/3 cup)
125 ml vegetable oil (1/2 cup)
400 g all-purpose flour (3 and 1/3 cups)
1 tsp cinnamon
4 tsp baking powder
topping:
1500 g plums (3.3 pounds)
50 g sugar (1/4 cup)
Filling:
500 ml milk (2 cups)
125 g sugar (2/3 cup)
60 g honey (3 tbsp)
300 g poppy seeds (1 and 1/2 cups)
2 - 3 tablespoons soft wheat semolina
150 g butter (2/3 cup)
Lemon peel
lemon juice
1 tsp ginger
2 eggs
Bake at 180 °C / 356 °F for 35 minutes on top/bottom heat
Baking pan diameter: 30 cm x 40 cm (12 x 16 inches)

Should I use dry or previously soaked poppy seeds? Poppy seeds don't have to be ground into powder, right?

I took a risk and prepared a cake with unsoaked poppy seeds, I only scalded it with boiling water. I didn't grind it too. I don't know if that was the reason, but the poppy seed mixture was very thin even though I added more than 3 tablespoons of semolina and even a little flour. That's why my plums were drowned in the poppy seed mixture. I just put the cake in the oven, I wonder what will come out :) Either way, we're going to eat them.

Very tasty cake. Only the bottom cheese-and-cinnamon-cake turned out to be a bit too hard, I wonder why - it is difficult to cut.

I don't like to use too many flavors in my deserts. You used ginger, lemon and cinnamon flavors. I'm not sure if I will like that mix of flavors in one desert
