📋 INGREDIENTS:
Dough:
5 egg whites
200 g sugar (1 cup)
5 egg yolks
150 g all-purpose flour (1 1/4 cups)
2 teaspoons of baking soda
200 g poppy seeds (1 3/4 cups)
Cream:
500 ml milk (2 cups)
80 g vanilla pudding powder or cornstarch (2/3 cup) **
100 g sugar (1/2 cup)
Pinch of vanilla bean
250 g butter (1 cup + 1 tablespoon)
Molding:
200 g powdered sugar (1 3/4 cups)
45 ml lemon juice (3 tablespoons)
Baking instructions:
Bake at 180°C (350°F) - 15 minutes on top/bottom heat
Baking pan diameter: 29cm x 33 cm (11 x 13 inches)
**The original recipe called for cornstarch, but I used vanilla pudding powder instead.

If you add almond flour instead of wheat flour, this cake will be much tastier. And you can use any type of cream based on your preference and taste. I make this type of cake pretty often. It is incredible!

Doch! Zumindest in Göhren auf Rügen. Dort habe ich ihn in einem Strandcafé gegessen. Er war allerdings mit Bitterschokolade überzogen und in einer Springform gebacken. Genial! Ich habe mich immer gefragt, wie die den Pudding zwischen die Mohnschichten bekommen und ewig nach dem Rezept gesucht. Jetzt weiß ich's - hätte ich auch selbst drauf kommen können. 🙄 Muß ich unbedingt nachmachen. Danke.

Oh my goodness!! This cake looks so delicious and easy to make. I shall have to try it. I love poppy seeds in baked goods and I bet that lemon icing gives a delicious zing to it all. Hoi lieve Anna wanneer bak jij een keer een mooi vlechtbrood voor ons,zou superfijn zijn . Und in in den Pudding gibst du noch Kokosflocken, dann hast du einen Mohn-Kokos-Vanillepuddig-Kuchen. Hat's so bestimmt noch nicht gegeben 😉

Hallo, also der Kuche wird nachgebacken, kommt auf diesen Kuchen wirklich die ganze Creme wie im Rezept beschrieben ist, das sieht im Video nach sehr viel aus.
