I feel you, brother. I've been fighting with substance abuse for almost all my adult life and that line made me cry so hard. The tears just wouldn't stop flowing.

He’s so clever with his lyrics. Little things like the whiskey “hides me from my pain” instead of “hides the pain”. It’s all in the details and the delivery.

This song always makes me cry. It just hits a part of me and unlocks memories from a past abusive relationship that are otherwise shut out of my mind. This is my FAVORITE by him. His best songs, personally, are the ones where it's just him and his guitar.

I put this song on the loop all the time and I was a little buzzed and I realized nobody uses the word Lonesome anymore and it just makes such a different impact than lonely😊😊😊😊 that is the beauty of Chris Stapleton he knows what to say it how to say it and I've never heard a bad song by Chris Stapleton😊😊😊😊

His lyrics connect....right to the heart of the matter. Chris is one of the most talented songwriters in all of music. When you couple that with his voice and his music style, you get something that helps you cope........it's that simple! Then when you look at his career and what happened when he met an angel from heaven who encouraged his talents while standing faithfully by his side........now you have a magical relationship that all fans covet. I know this to be true based on the ovation Morgaine Stapleton was given as Chris introduced the band members in a recent Virginai Beach live concert......her ovation was the LOUDEST by far! The fans get it, they believe in what they are selling and they ARE ALL IN! A humble artist to be soooo talented. Fantastic reaction, TY.

Honestly no matter what your favorite genre of music is if you don't love Chris Stapleton and his voice and his lyrics and who he is as a person something is seriously wrong with you honestly😊😊😊😊 this is still one of my favorite non-live songs of Chris I know he's best known for Tennessee whiskey but in my opinion that's not even in his top five best songs😊😊😊😊 he is that singer and performer that only comes along once in a generation if you are lucky❤❤❤❤
