I think I can explain. He’s from Memphis. He embraced the original sounds. He’s a mixture of blues, soul and country just being from the delta, in the south where the birthplace of American music originated based on black gospel and blues and sprung up from there. Go to the Rock and Soul museum in Memphis and your eyes will open. He’s an epiphany of all soul touching American music. Gotta love him…

Ya'll need to react to Chris Stapleton "It's a Man's World", "I was Wrong", "Nobody to Blame", "Daddy Doesn't Pray Anymore", honestly anything you react to by Chris will blow your mind. The man is a musical & vocal genius. He could sing the phone book & it would be awesome. Chris can sang!! Chris has been songwriting since his early 20's & has wrote many songs for other artist that have been hit songs. Chris's wife, Morgane is the one that persuaded Chris to start performing his songs live & recording them. Morgane is an excellent singer also. She sings backup for him, usually, on most songs. I saw an interview with Chris & the guy is down to earth & humble as can be. Just the humblest man you would ever meet. He also said he has well over 1000 songs he has wrote that are not recorded, just songs he has wrote. He said that when he is home, one of the first things he does is pick up his guitar & start playing, because he just loves playing the guitar. Chris Stapleton is indescribable when it comes to his singing & music. He can descend all genres of music.

I'm guessing you won't enjoy it as much as the more blues/soul tinged stuff, but I think you'll still appreciate the talent and it might be interesting for you to experience at least one of those songs that he does just so you see the different styles he can do.

Hey again, another suggestion of one of the greatest guitarists that has ever lived: Stevie Ray Vaughan. This man, Stevie, will leave you stunned & speechless with his blues/rock playing & singing. He is a legend. Songs by Stevie worth checking out are "Voodoo Child". This song is a remake of the original by Jimi Hendricks. Other songs are "Crossfire", "Texas Flood", "Cold Shot", "Tightrope", "Pride & Joy". Stevie Ray Vaughan sadly died in a helicopter crash, so he is not with us fans anymore. Stevie is cherished by his fans for his out of this world talent on the guitar & his music/songs that he wrote & sang. He died way too young & right when he was getting his life together. Just tragic. Stevie can wail on the guitar. It's unbelievable how great he was. He is very missed & loved. Check him out, Ya'll won't be disappointed.

Love Chris Stapleton and I am not a country music fan. Think it's the soul he sings with. If you like bluesy soul , you need to check out Beth Hart and Joe Bonamossa live in Amsterdam doing I'd rather go blind!! The best cover and closest to Etta James that I've heard. You can thank me later lol. Love your reactions, you guys are honest , real and really understand music 🎶 🙌 💜

Great comparison. Singers that you hear through your ears and feel from your head to your toes. BTW the Joe Cocker and John Belushi skit from old SNL is hilarious.

A beautiful voice is something that comes down through genetic happenstance. Of course, practice and coaching help refine it, but either one has it or they don't. You can't really create your very own beautiful voice, instead it comes to you by chance. But his guy sings with soul, so very much soul. He brings out his words in an extraordinarily beautiful voice from deep deep down inside his soul. There is no doubt to me he has lived the words he sings.
