Hi! I created probiotic scalp treatment drops that you can find here www.etsy.com/shop/beasbayou . They are probiotic-rich, organic, lightweight, smell good, feel refreshing, and actually work especially in between washes (I also use Nizoral and let sit on my scalp a while before I continue my wash and condition routine)! In regards to diet, AMEN to the no sugar, drink ACV with water in the morning, also coconut milk yogurt daily and when you can't eat well, Glutenease enzymes to take with your meals. Best to you!

I had terrible flare ups on my scalp and in my ears. I changed my diet completely. No sugars. No sodas. Drink 5 to 6 bottles water. Now the infection stopped and my dryness cleared up. Eliminate sugar. I started using Nizoral 1% keto. It stopped the dryness. Its high price but it works.

This is exactly why I sadly won't loc my hair. It's hard enough of a struggle with loose hair. Whenever I get braids or twist my hair, after a few days, my scalp becomes unbearable. It's almost like, it's not just that the flakes are stuck. It's like grouping my hair in sections almost aggravates the condition.

Hey, I have the same issue, and wanted to share a few things that may help since I know those feels. I've had some pretty good luck with epsom salt (magnesium sulfate, not actual salt) and oils high in omega 3's. With omega 3's, and I am sorry I don't remember the exact science behind it since I've a bad memory, but if your body doesn't get enough omega 3's, then the fungus on your scalp which causes seborrheic dermatitis, malassezia, feeds on oleic acid which is inflammatory, which contributes to the inflammation problem. I don't remember exactly where I read this, but omega 3's are def anti inflammatory and oleic acid causes inflammation. It's helped me quite a bit, but not all the way since I have other medical issues which may contribute to my own personal problem. Good luck!

Hi Loc crush, you have been an inspiration for me since before I started my journey specifically for this issue I have endured for years, and I was concerned my scalp would cause build up in my locs. I learned in my teens by accident that I have food intolerances over the years I have got to understand my body and how it reacts much better. I don't use any medical treatments because they don't address the root cause. As you mentioned wheat is a culprit for some and certainly is for me and my head would literally itch within 5 mins of eating wheat products. Anyway I recently became vegan and processed foods I cut out (its a real education especially when eating out) and discovered through process of elimination table salt is another culprit restaurants and takeaways use it and I used to eat a lot of salted crisps. There doesn't seem to be much info out there about the affects of table salt separate from sea salt on the body but I noticed a link between eating and itchiness which contain table salt. I also discovered soaking 2 caps of apple cider vinegar to a bowl of warm water gets the white flakes to float out the locs. I did this 3 times today then showered and exfoliated gently with exfoliation gloves (maybe easier then picking out white bits, but my roots are nowhere near as tidy as yours the majority of the time) and then I spray my scalp in a water peppermint essential oil mist after initial dab dry. I also lightly oil my scalp with a tea tree oil and peppermint oil mix just to maintain the health of my scalp. It seems to work. I wash once a week now which is much better. Before it could be up to 3 times a week depending on my diet. If you come unstook my solutions have been pretty harmless. Look forward to watching more of your videos. Your hair is beautiful. I have started steaming again, thanks for the reminder. Stay blessed x

I used to use the medicated shampoos and I even took pills but stopped because they were too strong for permanent usage. My dermatologist told me to wash my hair every day, not gonna happen, so I have used different oil combinations on my scalp when it flares up but regardless I have to wash my hair every few days.

I learned I had to cut back on gluten, dairy, and stop stressing out. My flakes got so bad, you could see it on my sheets when I wake up in the morning. Bless you for braving it out with locs. I won’t even get braids. I’m now on a routine of seabreeze every other wash, head and shoulders clinical shampoo, then wash with regular products. But everyone is different. Growing up my ma used Sulfur 8 grease to scratch my scalp, but it smells so medicinal.

Thankyou for this. I've had my locs for 12 years and I always had dandruff but the last 2 years I just had had scaly fish scalp. I totally changed my diet, drank tons of water and vitamins and switched to African black soap for shampoo and used shea butter on my scalp, but it seems to be very strong and tough skin that peels off in a dark color. I used heavy oils on my hair and found out that my scalp is allergic to coconut oil! The back of my neck would peel going up into my scalp. I know I have to go to the doctor because I am SO tired of moisturizing my scalp when nothing happens!

I was recently ( about two days ago) diagnosed with seborhehic dermatitis. For awhile, I thought my scalp was just dry. Even after washing thoroughly, directly in the center of my head would itch so bad and become tender. So I would add more and more oil thinking it was dry, which caused more harm than good. Using the ketoconazole shampoo has worked wonders.

Hi Loc Crush! How are you? I love your hair! I'm 10 months in my loc journey. I have dandruff. I've had it all my life to be honest. I have never been to a dermatologist about my scalp. I try to oil my scalp every 3 to 4 days when I see it's dry. I've been using rose water to moisturize my hair with some essential oils in it. I only get my hair retiwsted once every month. So, sometimes I'll try to hold out on washing my hair until then. That's not working for me. Could you give me some advice please?

My scalp was getting better after I was prescribed a special shampoo from the dermatologist(the same one you have I think), but once I got box braids it was all downhill. It’s worse than it’s ever been now and I’m trying to wash my hair more often to help it heal again but I feel like my hair is thinning out and I’m only 13 so it’s so scary and I feel like clawing at my scalp 24/7😭😭

I fasted and my hormones finally adjusted back to normal. Over the counter and doctor bull crap is just that, bull crap. I did it God's way. I am plant based. sugar/oil/salt free. You are what you eat. shampoo is the worse thing you can do to your scalp because it is so drying. sulfate free conditioner only method worked wonders for me. that was my breakthrough. the doctor stated that I would have this for the rest of my life. I wasnt born with it, so I got rid of it.

I also have this condition... I'm in the starter stage of dreads so I totally understand.I can't count how many dermatologists I went to before I found one that helped. I've been given so many products but none worked. I found a dermatologist about 7 years ago and it works wonder. I use the ketoconazole 2% shampoo as well. But I give myself a hot oil treatment 1st before I wash with a combination of organic olive oil, coconut oil and tea tree oil. Then I wash with m.medicated shampoo. I then follow up with Bronner Bros peppermint castile soap. I add oil and let air dry. Once dry the dermatologist prescribed Clobetasol Propionate Topical Solution 0.05%. This was the game changer. I use as needed. But when I experience a flare up it gets my hair right. I apply to affected area 2x a day.

I had this same problem it use to drive me crazy. I poured apple cider vinegar in a bowl with a lil water to dialute, I took a rag, dipped it in the mixture and rubbed it between each loc ( around and in between) it very time consuming and it burns like hell! I did that every wash day which was once a week. It started getting worse like it was fighting back or something 🤷‍♀️ then it left completely. I also changed my diet, started being consistent with workouts, drink more water, use less sugar, changed my shampoo, use grease instead of oils because the oils ran off, use rose water to keep hair moist and I only air dry, I don't use heat. I have been consistent with this for months and it eventually left

My head is the most itchy after a retwist, the next day or 2 it starts itching bad then the small sores start to come. Doesn't matter who does it or what products they use.

Have you tried Aveda products which are natural ingredients. They have something in a green bottle that may help. I like washing my hair often as well sometimes. I use flaxseed gel from Aveda which is awesome for me. I hope your scalp feels better for my scalp is itchy right in the crown area and hair has actually come out because I am always scratching their. I’ve been using Aveda line and this time I am more serious I am feeling les itchy and I am decreasing sugar in my diet🌸 thanks for sharing your vlog.

I have a question please...soooo I’ve been using garlic mix with oils on my scalp twice in a week (I like to try new things..). Today is going to be my third time to use it again but when I went to the bathroom to fix my hair I saw dead skin, like dead skin is coming off but I have to peal it off..it’s not flakes or anything like that, my head ain’t itchy either..is that normal? Cause I’m thinking maybe it’s because I got my hair permed years ago which was crazy so my scalp is healing up. Are my right? Please

Also T-Gel is a shampoo is the strongest one you can get without a prescription... it’s for dermatitis and psoriasis. But like I said in the comment before.. the natural solution is Apple Cider Vinegar mixed with water.. as well as tea tree oil. Olive oil is another good scalp moisturizing remedy that’s all natural and organic.

I went to a dermatologist and I was prescribed a topical oil but she really didn’t give me any details about what I’m lacking in my diet or whatever but she mentioned something about immune system. It says I should apply for 4 hours or overnight then wash with regular shampoo every day for two weeks but I have something against washing my hair every single day, that’s just strange, I never washed my hair every day.

@@sivaprakas2830 the sun produce natural oils for our hair and kills all fungus in it. Without vitamin D, our hair will become dry, thin, and fall out. Nature doesn't make any mistakes. God doesn't make any mistakes. I've been out in the sun for hours let me tell you, it helped my hair out a lot and made me look younger, feel younger, and feel great. Lucky I can't lose hair because of genetics I get my hair growth from my mom and dad side. Stop blaming stuff on nature and start treating your body and hair right. Also, you can spray water on your hair, drink water and get sunlight. They prevent alopecia that cause your hair to grow bald spots. Also, you can eat pecans that helps hair grow. If you're consuming a lot of sugar or a lot of processed foods, that cause your hair to become flakey and have dandruff. You need sunlight in order to have a healthy body. Wake up and stop letting the system bullshit you! The sun doesn't cause cancer or hair to fall out for black people. The reason people get skin cancer and bad hair is because they are consuming a lot of toxic foods and drinks, and not getting any sunlight. Sunscreens cause cancer, too, when you go out in the sun with it on your body. Americans have became so dumbed down they don't even know anything anymore.

I've struggled for all my life with this. We have a 3 year generations with it. Its genetic too. My best tip is medicated shampoo weekly. Its not a question u must wash weekly with medicated shampoo. Drink lots of water. No grease and barely any products outside of water . for moisturiser i find that diluted coconut unrefined oil and a lil tea tree helps but mostly water. Dry hair thoroughly with microfiber tshirt after washes.

I believe I have the same on my scalp. It would burn and itch so bad I just wanted to give up on my hair altogether. I would wash with apple cider vinegar its would make it burn worse. I would retwist with vaseline just to get some kind of relief. Then take a claritin in Hope's it would calm down. Then two days later the flakes and itching was back. I'm trying not to cut my locs. But its very hard combing the flakes out each loc. How did you remove the flakes. Washing alone dont work for me
