TGO | Wild Boar Spear Hunting Adventure

Спорт

I returned to Black Mountain Hunts in Oklahoma last week for another wild boar hunt. Watch me get primal on this Tex Grebner Outdoors!
Shout-out to my friend and fellow tradlifer Tripper Saddler for making the journey and documenting the action of the hunt.
Big thanks to Jim & Victoria Paxton over at Black Mountain Hunts!

Hell yeah brother nice shot and nice hog! You don't have to explain why you do what you do. We get it. I like your videos because you are real and you are learning as you go, as we all are. Trad life is everything that you put into it, and its a lifetime of highs and lows. Keep at it with the spear, it will happen and I can't wait to see it!

May I ask why you didn't bring a 100 pound bow with you? That should have allowed you to get better range.

I'm just starting to watch, but as for the discussion of ethics and hunting, i think there needs to be a 'what if' question posed. What if you make a poor or unlucky shot with your throw? You stick it in the gut or rump? What kind of a miserable death are you imposing for your "sport?" Are you going to have to walk up and give porky a coup de gras?

I have admitedly very limited experience with spear hunting but from what I have seen even a less than optimal hit with a spear will prove lethal in fairly short order just due to the ammount of trauma caused

What if you made a poor shot with a rifle? Or a bow? That question could be asked with any weapon? If you practice and are confident in your ability to make good shot placement then it doesn't matter what weapon you use. Just because hunting with a spear seems like it would be harder to make the shot for you doesn't make it harder for him if it's what he has practiced.

For one, hogs are a HORRIBLE species in north america and 2 a properly sized and sharp spear head will absolutely destroy a pig. Whether the throw is good or bad.

Love the videos, but canned hunts are canned hunts, no way around it. Keep up the great content though.
