Hey man that things sweet. The reason the front of the bed is normally lower is so that your machine doesn't set up higher than the cab. And the boxes are normally raised from the top of the deck so that water doesn't get into them
Wow dude that's old school, used to work with some old pipefitter welder fitters in the missile industry back in the day, cool
Your fabrication skills are top notch. Your design skills are ARTIST. And from a 22 year welding vet, you inspire me creatively.
That’s definitely the best look I’ve saw thus far from any custom deck builder!
You make it look so easy, I know you worked hard on it and it shows. Vary nicely done sir
Everytime you build something it's like art man, love it
Bro...I know this video is a bit old but I would do just about anything to get my hands on something like that for o overlanding. You sir are the man.
Holy shit, freaking artist with metal.
That is absolutely awesome fantastic craftsmanship love your work
Amazing craftsmanship! Giving me lots of ideas for a flat deck build for my square body gmc!
Always love your videos man. You do awesome work. The in deck storage is beautiful keeps the lines clean and low key.great job brother
One of the best designs I’ve seen. Great use of storage!
You are a genius love the way this deck is Turning out great design your style of decks are very cool
Badassery! Cool storage and very nice fabrication techniques!
It’s a fucking sweet design. It’s so smooth looking
That bed is going to be great man nice work. I did alot of pipeline jobs in early 2000 and that bed looks great.
Awesome how easy you make it look and how prepared you are. Gonna be amazing
Looks sweet! Been following your channel for along time and it just gets better and better! BC boys represent
never fails, spectacular build. nothing cookie cutter about your designs my man.
Been wanting to design a flatbed pipeliner for a while myself.. just came across this,, super slick Youngblood
Your a metal genius nice looking deck. Hope the next video comes soon!
First Class work!!! Love this Deck! Thanks for sharing...👍
Really love how this bed is coming out 😎 can't wait to see the rest of it . Wish my 3500 srw was a long bed. I bet just trimming the fenders down would work with my width. I'm thinking I could adjust your plans to work with the shorter wheelbase ? Looking forward to the finished bed and checking out the plans and measuring my truck to see if my idea will work. Awesome builds bud 👍
Hey you make a great job ! That’s very professional. I really like your videos. Cheers Mike from the south of France ✌️
Hell of a job!!!! Looks good!
Love the work I’m looking forward on building my first bed I have the same model Cummins truck
Great work. Would love to have a bed like this on my 01 Cummins truck.
It’s an awesome deck, you are one talented guy
Been waiting for another deck build!
Love this channel man
You are one hell of a fabricator awesome work
Awesome build my dude. That really does look great!
Holy crap dude, blown away every time I see your work. It would be cool if your time lapsed some of the sketchy deck moving. I’m not very familiar with this style but will there be a headache rack? Thanks man love your work
@Cumminslife
6 жыл бұрын
No headache rack on this one. It will have Sa200 shorthood against cab.
Looks fantastic 👍👍👍👍
Looks awesome I give it the thumbs up 👍🏼
That slick nice and tucked away that's nice bed
Dude, that is so sweet.
That bed is looking really good and I'm glad to see that you finally put a metal floor on it wood floors don't belong on a truck designed for today's extreme uses they are put through. It would be nice to actually see you cutting and welding on your work instead of just pictures.
I've seen that style of pipeline bed before where you have a lot of area to work on the bed of the truck.
Nice man really nice build!
An artist at work😃
I live in Texas and would love one of these flatbeds on my truck. If only you weren't so far north lmao
Work an ideas always on point.
Ya.. i like the storage and the shape.. Sweet
Damm nice work like the build.
Nice job looks good.
i wish i had your skills awesome build
That's sic dude. I'll send anyone in the Okanagan I know your way, if they need custom fab.
Speechless I'm going to build a simular deck for my 67 GMC k35 1-ton 4x4. Extra fuel tank is great idea
That’s a bad ass welding bed
I would love to see one of these designs with a back rack and gooseneck setup
Man that is slick!!
Love the videos man
Looks great
Cool job love it keep it up
Nice work!
amazing it looks great
Freakin awesome man!
You sir are a metal fab master
Yea way Cool! I think you mentioned 3/16 decking. Look like 2x2, 1/4 wall not sure. Other panels 12 gauge? Oh yea and a new subscriber. I kinda like the idea of putting a lip sticking up around the tool wells to keep water out. Of course with a lid with a lip. Of course it's your build. So I'm waiting to see it complete.
Beautiful work. I like it. I used to build them here in Ohio, but they were more ultility style flatbeds for contractors.
Fantástica essa flatbed!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Fantastic!
Another great video man. The deck’s looking fantastic. That shop looks really right though lol. But it looks like you make do with the space you have.

Yes I need more space asap!!!!!
I want to build one, that’s awesome!!
Awesome bed,we could definitely use a little more Texas in B.C
Looks good!
That looks mint mate also looks like it would weigh a tonn but should last a life time looking forward to seeing the finished product 👌
@Cumminslife
6 жыл бұрын
Yeah I will weigh it once its on the truck to know forsure. All weight will be very low and towards the front though so should handle really nice.
It think its awesome styleing!!! Like the low profile an sharp angles!!! Finally someone rethinks the bed design sick of seeing same shit rounded corners, no work space no bumper pull hitch or goose neck hitch.... stupid!!! Really excited to see it finished!!! Love you builds awesome!!! One day I'll finish my 71 an have you build me a bed!!!
Could you incorporate boxes on the lower front sides? Seems like there’s plenty of room. Looks awesome though!
Thats awesome I personally would cut the edges of the fender inward tho
Hi, remember us? Not that we are impatient or standing tapping our foot and looking at the hour glass with the sands of time going by, one grain at a time......................BUT.......LOL.....hope you are fine and doing well.
Another awesome vid! Been a while since your last lol. I’m in the process of building a mobile telescoping gantry crane for my little shop. Would probably help you out a lot if you had one. Even getting metal off your trailer and flipping these awesome beds!
@Cumminslife
6 жыл бұрын
Yeah just not enough space to keep one in here. Maybe soon when I get larger shop.
Badass deck
Very clean work. Idea about building a gantry hoist with a chain fall. Or make a universal chassis flipper. Cheers

Yes I want to but shop is too small. Hopefully moving into bigger shop soon then I definitely will.
Nice deck
Nice work 👍. By using the scoring cuts to make your bends. Does that reduce or eliminate the bending allowances that are normally needed in your depths and widths. Also will this process create any tendency for cracks forming along these lines. Please don’t think I’m being critical of your work because it’s far from that. Was asking because over the rears if seen it done many ways and am never to old or to smart to learn. Great content 👍
@Cumminslife

Yeah as long as you cook a real hot weld in there it will be fine. A quick downhand on back of a zip cut bent joint will definitely crack
I am stretching a 14 mega cab and Lookin for a 12' bed for sleds but know one wants to help. I want to build something cool. Your stuff looks great, and I am picky. Very talented!

Send me an email I can definitely help you out. Optimalwelding@gmail.com
Very nice
Looks good dude , been waiting a while for a video to come out , you been busy?
Nice job👍👍. You need to build yourself an overhead crane to help with lifting and flipping.
The reason they build the backs of the beds up down here is mainly for more tool space , or possibly build a box on the back for your jacks, or have a slide for a burn table in my option there’s a lot of waisted space on on flat deck
@LRSS2455

He will have to build some gutters on the inside of his boxes to keep the water out and that would shrink the opening size. It would be easier if the lids were higher than the floor of the bed.
I have never been so anxious waiting for a damn KZread VID..........LOL Hurry Hurry Hurry!!!!!
Nice build, my question is how much when finished built Completed estimated weight?#, comparison to other build bed for welding job bed?
Bad ass dude I’m jealous
Lov it very cool👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽😎
That is the shit bro!!
Amazing work where do you buy your levels from
Hey man, great videos. I get a lot out of them. I’m wondering how it could be done to have the doors on the side? I want a flatbed truck someday and I’d just be hauling chains/straps. I’d hate to have the deck loaded then not be able to access the doors from the top.
@Cumminslife
6 жыл бұрын
Yeah for this application its better to have doors on the top but I am working on a design similar to this with side cabinets.
Would you be willing to say how much time and material went into this build when its all said and done? Im on Long Island,NY so not too much need for welding rigs compared to texas or up north but out here custom flatbeds/toolboxes in general definitely have a market here and i dont know of anyone currently doing them.
It’s sikkkkkk 👌🏼
Freaking love this deck man. In my own opinion it’s your best one yet! If I could put Jon any input maybe angle in the lowest points of the fenders like you did with your other ones to match the sides. Other than that it’s perfect
@Cumminslife

I agree. Smashed my knees on that pointy fender to many times already!!

I agree as well, awesome design! What will it weigh, and would you have any suggestions to reduce weight for a geared and tuned tacoma? Tia
@vinnyslawncare

Through Jack's camera nobody puts welding decks on shitty Tacoma’s lol there to weak for the weight. 🤣😆😉

I agree.. match up the angle with the bed sides.. It looks awesome so far..
Looks great!!! Would love too build something similar for my weld rig. Dont wanna steal ideas but modify it for my needs!

Excellent work as always. Do you cut your steel freehand or is it on a machine saw? Spot on accuracy everytime. Impressive.
@Cumminslife
6 жыл бұрын
I cut it all by hand right now. Planning to design and build my own plasma CNC table soon.
Hey man just wondering what program you use to design your beds! I’m building a bed for my truck and I’m in love with this design. Thank you sir!
I want to get a ride in a first gen so bad I found a crew cab that I'm converting to a dually flatbed but I've never actually gotten a ride in one yet
GREAT!!!!! Do you back weld the side fenders at the zip bend to prevent snapping or breaking from vibration?
@Cumminslife
6 жыл бұрын
Yes all the zip cut bends are welded out on the inside.
Yes, I agree, It looks great. What does it weigh though? Fuel mileage maybe suffer from packing around all that weight. Just, saying.
Maybe think about a flush mount trunk like the side boxes in the rear for bigger items jack stands...ect...
@Cumminslife
6 жыл бұрын
Yeah it will have a storage box up on the deck but there isnt really enough room to build it down flush in the center. If the truck was lifted you could get away with deeper center cabinet.
i like it
