Awesome build, the only thing I would change on the truck would be add a custom front bumper with a hydraulic winch and on the back a regular heavy duty vice on one side and a big ole pipe vice on the other. Plus I would add Lockers front and back along with led work lights for all 4 sides. Your 80% of the way to a perfect weld truck! Beautiful Build! Anyone that has 2 brain cells can see that you have more talent than most 10 guys put together! I wish I could afford to have you build me my ultimate and last truck I will ever own. I am in my mid 50's and my health isn't very good anymore but I dream of having one last custom 4x4 that would last me the rest of my life. If I win the lottery I will be traveling up into Canada to have you build my dream 4x4 off road, camper towing, emergency recovery vehicle...😊 I have it all planned in my head, but I need to win the lottery first...lol 😉

@jujitsuman68 I my building days are over I already built more trucks and cars then most people dream about and besides you obviously didn't read everything I wrote...or you cant comprehend I complimented the build ...it is a beautiful truck but if I were to change his design I add more to make it even more capable that's all.....as far as your comment all I will say is I already did....

Crazy Craig this sounds like the dream truck. My dream is to have a truck/bed like this. With a custom build camper an I can raise up and drive out from under. Live in it full time, an still have the flatbed to make some money hauling with. But seeing I am also in my 50's an never going to able to afford to retire or buy another truck, it will always just be a dream.

My 81 yo dad passed away Nov 30th and we was a retired Texas pipeline welder of 40 years, I came across your video and a lot of what you are doing brings back memories. I helped him build a bed when I was in high school. I worked two summers with him as a helper (long enough to realize I didn't want to be a welder!) He thought it would make me want to go to college. I ended up an electrician instead! He ran the same SA200 he bought new in 1976 when he went from a fab shop to rig welding. He only had that machine for the whole 40 years. He said he thought about having one chopped but heard other guys had trouble with them overheating (no such thing as aluminum radiators and not many electric fans yet). He only had three trucks (73 Ford F350 with a built 428, 80 GMC C30 with a buitl 454 and an 89 Chevy C30 with a stock 350) and never financed any of them. it was a good thing too since when Reagan was president the economy went to shit and he had to work single hand for a while and probably would have lost anything he financed.

I really like the bed boxes you set into the bed! Nice! I'm getting almost ready to build a flatbed for my K3500 and will consider those built-in bed boxes for mine...i'd only change one thing...i'd figure out a way to use a different hinge setup so the hinges/pins don't stick up...or maybe weld some steel runners a little higher than the hinge pins so anything dragging across the bed won't hit those hinge pins. Great job and thanks!

I would not leave home without a whole book on all plumbing/pieces as it is very busy truck. A lot of investment but I believe the bed will outlive three trucks. I love those big lincoln welders as well they get it done and don't complain. I changed more fuel filters on mine till I figured out where the problem wass but that was the only thing sides oil changes on the welder two to one of the truck. I like that stack coming up out of the grass and crap that you run into. I would of found a high volume air compressor for it somewhere as I run tons of air. I would need one seperate from the truck engine Great video

Just wondering if Rhino coating the top, sides, inside the storage bins as well as the bottom of storage bin covers and maybe the wheel wells would be a possibility? I would have mounted a Knaack, or equivalent type, tool box on the deck instead of the one you did. Make provisions so it could be lifted off/on at the job site with a forklift or 4 strong men. Being an old fart I much prefer the classic look, to say nothing of the sound, of the Lincoln SA-200 welder. You can replace all the front control panel decals if you like but leave the rest of its patina as it is, it has earned it! Have to agree with Crazy Craig's build suggestions also. Another great vid, another beautiful build and can't wait for the next one!
