Testriding the Honda CMX 1100 Rebel with Dual Clutch Transmission (automatic) | REVIEW

I got the chance to testride this Honda CMX 1100 also called the Rebel 1100 with DCT. This is a very raw first impression of the bike, because I didn't inform myself beforehand. At the end I give my first ride review. Hope you enjoy!

Holy Shit!!! I have the same bike and you took the words right out of my mouth! After a few miles in Sport Mode, you might have to go to the nearest men’s restroom!!! The first things I did was change to a Mustang seat, Two Brothers muffler, and added a Memphis Shades Batwing and now let the good times roll!! You can down/up shift using the paddle shifters while in automatic mode! Great video, thank you! 👍

Got me self one 1100dct and i had rhe same seating issue, solbed it by adding crash barr and adding foor pegs and putting risers on the handle bar, the sea i added more padding making me higher, i am 5,11 two. Now i cruse relaxed and confortable. The engone is powerfull and very relaxing to ride for 2 to 3 hours.

I had the Honda NC 750 X, the best setting for me was the S,it was a very nice bike ,but later on i went back to a MC with manual shifting.

I got my Rebel a year ago DCT and I ove it. You have to program it in the manual mode for power and traction control and engine brake. Than you just start shifting on your left hand toggle switch. At that point it rides like a sport bike. You would love it. I 8,000 miles on it and its a lot of fun on the Jersey shore in the US with some flamenco guitar music in my helmet.

Thanks Thomas, I wondered what the 1100 was like. Here in Australia our country roads are 100 and our motorways 110, so 1100 cc works well.

The DCT has multiple settings - the best setting (on the Twin) is S2, which is much more sporty, the gearbox will shift totally differently.

Great video review. Thanks. I too had the same hip pain when I went for a test ride in March 2022. My test ride was on a DCT as well. They didn't have any manuals to try which was a bummer. I'm 5'7" for reference. I wanted to REALLY like the bike but dang, that hip pain has me pausing on whether I should buy one.

Funny, I have the same feeling in my hipjoint when riding cruisers (feet forward), so I guess it's genetic 😁

I have a dct model the stock settings are not the best changing them to your liking is user mode helps a lot and you can always down shift or up shift your self in auto mode or Manual mode

I agree with your opinion on the size of engine being compatible with the roads you are riding. I live in Scotland where the road speed limits are similar to to yours in Belgium. I ride a Honda Cb500f, which is more than enough for these roads. Better to ride a bike at it's comfortable design capacity, than continuously nursing a big bike along on at slower speeds.

Nice job.... and with only one thumb, too! I should get one of those just to piss off the Harley Boys here in Florida. if you are over 21 here and have insurance, you don't have to wear a helmet at all. There are fewer and fewer HBs here every year.

Cool looking bike, but not very ergonomic(i am 6,3). The Africa Twin runs the same engine and you don't have to see a chiropractor afterwards. And they probably drink more than i do, so i'll stick with my 650V.
