#Honda #Motorcycle #MotorcycleReview
We ride the 2021 Honda Rebel 1100 DCT for a month, and give our impressions of Honda's revolutionary automatic motorcycle.
Will this motorcycle and its unique transmission change the future of motorcycling? Will it appeal to and invite a new generation of motorcycle riders? Will it broaden and retain powersports enthusiasts for the brand? Or will it be a sales flop, and go the way of the dodo bird?
One thing is certain- Honda has never been afraid to experiment and push the envelope, and they just might have a winner here, on multiple fronts.
So check out and enjoy our ride & review, and if you get the chance yourself, take one out for a spin!

I am in my sixty's and have arthritis plus being only 5'4" have never been able to ride a true cruiser but now I am enjoying the Rebel1100 DCT, I can move it around off the stand, it is easy to ride and handles well, max speed is 100mph so well over the national limit here in the UK and it puts a smile on your face every time you ride, surprising even EV drivers off the lights it is that quick and yes it does need that anti wheelie control in sport mode.

I have the DCT model and I absolutely love it, I’m still treating it gently for the first 1000 miles, but I have taken it up to 110 mph for a short time, just to see if it was restricted, apparently not 👍

Nice work. Got 12K on my DCT and only thing I'd add is u gotta use the rear brake for your friction zone in low speed maneuvers. Sweet bike and have run her thru the Carolina/Tennessee mountains but live out on coast of Florida. Tis the season to ride down here, y'all.

It’s amazing to me that so many people trash the DCT but have installed quickshifters on their “manual” bikes so they only use the clutch to stop. I do wish Honda installed a foot shifter for manual mode.

@@roaddirttv I don’t want a DCT personally. That said, only DCTs are available anywhere near me and I want a bike again. It’s been quite some time since I’ve ridden a bike and the comfort a DCT would give pulling out into busy traffic is unmatched with a manual for newer riders. Ive also seen the 0-60 pulls on the manual 1100 compared to the DCT and its incredible. There is a reason that modern new sports cars are DCT. I just hope that they keep manual motorcycles around.

The rear shock really punishes you for living where the roads are poor. I.e. bumps and/or potholes. Both my ninjas 400,650 were way more comfortable because of this. But the Torque and sound of my 1100 is incomparable!

I'll be doing away with the foot rear brake too...due to having an ABS pump,I'm fitting a clutch master cylinder off of a Honda CBF1000 and running that to the pump, all brakes on the bars-hate where the foot pedal is,I couldn't use that safely, never being a cruiser owner before(and there's a fuel cell going under the seat,so getting rid of the brake fluid reservoir is handy too-need more capacity than 13.6litres).

The dct is excellent for riding to the beach in stop and go traffic. Clutching gets a bit annoying for me after a while. Maybe I'm getting too old or too lazy 🤷‍♂️

I think I’m maybe to lazy for the Manuel 😅. The juice isn’t worth the squeeze. I’m getting one of these dct versions. I don’t know why people love changing gears so much. I got my full license on Manuel and couldn’t give a shit about changing gears.

Phil is also 6’2”, and would like to see forward set pegs for the Rebel. He found the handlebar reach good, the seat super low, just opined that moving pegs forward would help taller riders. Check on the Honda site, see if they sell a kit for that.
