Honda rebel 1100 DCT - Can automatic still be fun to ride???

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Thank you to Honda Centre in Burnaby, BC, Canada.
This is the first DCT motorcycle I have ridden and I am glad I did. While I still prefer manual with quick shift, Honda did a fantastic job with the Rebel 1100.

    A shame that not every moto company sells more auto motorcycles, there would be a lot more first time riders like myself who want to ride without worrying about learning how to ride manual lol. Great video my man, take care and be safe out there!

    I mean the hard part of driving a motorcycle isn't the shifting.. so if this is what's making it too much effort to learn, that's probably a good thing.

    I'm buying my first bike next week. I will be getting rebel1100 dct. I know how to ride manual. It is too much hassle. Dct completely eliminated the trouble of clutch and shifting. You can just enjoy the ride. We have manual bikes at home. My dad and my brother own them. Dct will allow you to enjoy the road for more for beginners. At least know how shifting works and you will be fine

    I have been driving manual cars and bikes for 20 years. I'm goddamn tired of babysitting a clutch. Never again. Shifting is fun sometimes. Most of the time it's an annoyance.

    I just bought the 2022 DCT and love it. I've ridden manuals for years, but had a work accident that severely limits mobility and strength in my left hand. When I went to sign the paperwork and pick it up, the dealer kept asking if the bike was for my wife, and was taken aback when I told him that I would be the one riding it. He was under the impression that only women drive automatic bikes.

    Classic ignorant sales person. They probably never rode it. You can count on car or motorcycle sales staff to know little about the product. The ones that do really stand out as great people.

    Ive seem a lot of hate from some riders about DCT and people who choose them and its sad. Yes im learning to ride, yes i still have the ability to ride a manual. Am i great at it, no. Can i do it, yes. However i just like the concept of a dct. Fits what i want and i just want to focus on the ride amd the experience of being on a bike. Its a funny hobby to be apart of and anyone who wants A dct should definitely do so if its best for them. However i do think every rider should be able to ride a manual in some capacity.

    Great bike just bought one 2022 just put in 300 miles today the only thing I don't like is the gas tank it does not hold a lot I don't understand why they say 3.5 gallons but when I go to fill it up and the light is blinking low fuel it only let me put in 2.6 gallons and it's really sporty love that. Takes off like a rocket

    2 things to mention, first you missed the storage under the seat, turn the key to the right to unlock the seat, there is some space there. Second thing to mention, when you talk about the rear break you mention locking up, well this has ABS so it just will not lock. Just additional correction there, no disrespect, because I really like the review ! greets

    Nice looking bike. Honda did well with this machine. I know this might make it more like a scooter, but with no clutch I'd want the rear brake on the left hand bar as it would seem more natural when turning/corning slowly ....something to grab at a natural spot since the clutch is not there. Again, I know it might make people say it's a scooter. :O

    What I plan to do with my Rebel 1100T bagger when it arrives, mainly because the rear brake pedal is in a terrible position... a Honda(Nissin)CBF1000 clutch master cylinder is an exact match, that and a braided line down to the ABS pump, easy conversion. I also plan to put a full cell below the seat, so you can strip away all the rear brake parts from down there, including the fluid reservoir... touring bike!(you don't need that handbrake with a centre stand - T'Rex Racing).

    I love my Rebel 1100 DCT, it’s fantastic, so nimble and so quick. You said it will shift in manual mode if your revs are too high… mine will not. Manual mode will only downshift when the revs are too low to stop the engine from stalling, you have to push the button to upshift. I only ride in manual mode, the auto mode shifts at annoying times. The seat pops off easily for storage just by pushing and twisting the key… there are tools and a USB port under there and a little bit of space, but not much. I think you also missed the cruise control

  • @leeridefar

    @leeridefar

    2 жыл бұрын

    The auto shift mode is conservative and setup for good gas mileage. Manual is much more enjoyable. How long have you rev maxed it and it didn’t shift? Yes I did miss the cruise control. I lost my notes that day and had to wing it. Good catch.
