The knob on the top of the foam cannon controls how much water mixes with the soap, thats why when you had it all the way to the plus side you got very little suds. The part you twist on the nozzle just controls the fan pattern of the foam, from a thinner to wider pattern. If you get all that dialed you won’t need a ton of soap!

I use 15 parts water and 1 part soap in mine, foams up just about the same. There should be a ratio on the back of your soap bottle and there’s mixing ratios on the side of the cannon

Its a solid unit fs, we had this for probably 8+ years cleaning farm equipment with it
