Testing Lomography’s Color Negative 120 Film Stocks

IG: @ExpiredBren
Website: www.brendanflesher.com
In this video I will be testing out Lomography’s three flagship medium format color negative films (Lomography 100, 400, and 800) using my Fujifilm GW690II “Texas Leica.” All of these images were taken in the Feather River Canyon along Highway 70 after a light dusting of snow at the higher elevations.
Special thanks to Lomography for providing me with the film to make this video.

I’ve shot a roll on Lomo Purple in 135, and loved it. Bought two rolls in 120 see how it looks in medium format (in 35 it was cool but super grainy). Now it looks like I need a few rolls of Lomo 800! Thanks for the great content!

Hi Bren , its 3am I can't sleep so I have watched a few photo videos and this one really fulfilled the need. Beautiful American scenery, relaxing honky tonk music and a great demonstration of what a Fuji 6x9 can do with these film stocks. Amazing quality all round. I'll be back. Regards Jake E.

Lomo 800 in particular is a must try! In the US happens to be significantly cheaper than Portra 800, although it also isn't always that widely available.

Awesome video and effort, I realised that I have been seeing your shots on IG and elsewhere. Last fall I stocked up on other 120 films such as old price Portra, and I haven't used Lomo since a few years back. Nice old style Kodacolor that works well, the 800 is quite enticing but in EU it's a steep shipping cost their store has so I haven't tried that film yet. What's your scanning workflow? Mostly for CN100 what I see is that these films don't adjust to popular Kodak profiles and even got me weird very 80s brown results out of a couple labs, whereas other gave a great mild pallette.

I am based out of Northern California, so fortunately this canyon is only about 30 minutes away from me. I usually don't stop to photograph the canyon when I'm driving through so I'm glad that I did this time.

@@ExpiredBren I haven’t had good luck with 800 speed film. Maybe it’s because I shoot a lot in harsh light, my metering skills are shit or the type of cameras I use only top out at 1/500th or 1/400th max speed. So 400 just does for my workflow.
