What about the 1.4?

This looks like the Auto Chinon 55mm F1.7 lens, But the hyper focal mark on the 55mm is a diamond shape. Wonder could they both be made by Tomioka, or could that mean that the 55mm is the radioactive lens made by Sun.

I believe there are a few different versions of the 55mm Auto Chinon. I know the later MC versions are not Tomioka design. Your guess would be as good as mine.

Excellent video! 👍Your thoughtfulness in conducting the radio-activity test is highly commended. Question: what adaptor to use if this lens is to be mounted on a Fujifilm X-mount camera since the lens has no A/M switch? Or will a normal M42 - FX adaptor do?

Thank you for your comment. Most reputable brand M42-FX adapters have a lip on the inner circumference of the screw threads to depress the stop down pin on the back of the lens. If you are not sure, ask the seller. In some cases, the lip can be removed for lenses like Asahi SMC Takumar lenses with obstructions on the back of the lens that will interfere with proper mounting on adapters with the lip. I also have a video on different M42-Canon EF adapters, which goes over the issue.
