New Tacoma is a excellent class leading mid size truck And keeps its crown with style.👑👑👑. Obviously haters will Post crazy comments and misinformation. Whats funny and untolerable for me is some people can't understand that this is a bloody truck end of the day. This is not going get prius levels of MPG. Still the hybrid version has excellent power performance torque and more. Fact is stupid hard core enthusiasts Will complain about anything.

my only complaint is the price increase.. I got my brand new 2020 limited for 41K.. a new one is 11K more and the dealers want to charge a market adjustment on top of that. thats insane, and its not even for the iforce max..

My understanding is that only the hybrid limited gets full time 4x4. The non-hybrid limited can only be had with part time 4x4. Depending on who you are the hybrid might be better for the conditions you live in.

Kirk, With today's prices, Toyota's Full-time, 'Land Cruiser' 4WD system should be installed in all the 4X4 models. In tanks like the Tacoma and 4Runner, the mpg penalty is insignificant compared to the added grip. I know this is a Tacoma review but those Crown Signias look good in the spring sunshine. 😎😎😎😎

Kirk I’ll tell ya having a turbo anything makes me uneasy. However, this engine has been out for about 2 years (in other Toyota/Lexus) and so far my people’s in the field has shown zero engine failures, and the few issues that were reported were in the first 6 months. Most of these probably don’t have over 40,000 miles so far so only time will tell after 100,000… My biggest gripe with these are the itty bitty gas tanks, and how they basically force you to think “you might as well get the higher trim / better package”. If you look at how these are priced, and the different trims, by the time you’re already at 49,000, you might as well buy the limited/ TRD Off Road at 53. And you get EVERYTHING cool! And the most common one that people would use for work would be the SR5 unless your Orkin and are going to use an SR. But there’s no excuse why the SR5 cannot get some kind of package that has the outlet in the bed. The SR5 having the power outlet would solve the issue where most think about just might as well getting the higher trim because it’s only a little bit higher price anyway and you get everything you need and want. Once my RAV4 is paid for, I’m eyeballing a few different Tacoma options. Hopefully in a few years they will make tweaks to some minor complaints out there.

Great review. Just my opinion but, I have an 18 TRD ORP 4Runner. Watching the mpg’s on the screen and I get the same or actually better mpg’s than the new hybrid truck when I go easy on the throttle. Okay you have more torque. But, I thought the idea of the new model and platform was to increase fuel economy? Since the new 4Runner will have the same drivetrain it will be hard to justify the healthy price increase for a new one that still needs to prove its reliability over the long run. Plus the wind noise issue has plagued several of the newer model, especially the Tundra truck and that takes us back to quality control and design issues that Toyota engineers should have caught before production. I am a huge fan of the Toyota/Lexus vehicles so don’t take my criticism the wrong way, maybe just share with all those Toyota reps you deal with from a consumers standpoint. Again keep up your reviews always look forward to your assessments of the vehicles answering all the right questions someone wants to know if they are serious about buying.
