I've timed my 2018 3-ton Lennox AC and been on HOT/HUMID days here in St Louis my AC will run about 2 times an hour for about 7 minutes with my thermostat set at 75F. During an outage, I would probably bump my temp to 77F or 78F. We have an 1800 sq ft 2 bed/bath VILLA with tinted windows and plantation shutters and ceiling fans. I can easily confirm that data with my Enphase and utility apps since we have a smart meter that reports usage in 15-minute intervals. I think most folks faced with an outage in bad weather will cut their consumption considerably.

Also, as Martyna said, if it was LFP why wouldn't they heavily publicize it? Again, I hope it is LFP but until I can see the info with my own eyes in the installer portal, I am skeptical

So I currently have 2 x Powerwall 2's, will I be able to install a Powerwall 3 and have them all work nicely together (including the Tesla App). I have 2 x Fronius inverters (6kw with 8kw of Solar and a 10kw with 13 kw of solar) So I could use the extra panels on a Powerwall 3. Or should I just get another Powerwall 2. What would be the Advantages and Disadvantages of this. Thanks and absolutely love your videos.

Tesla is saing $1,000 less for the DC pack. The current PW3 with gateway sits below 10k in material costs, now we also have to add other electrical materials such as wires and breakers, and combiner boxes etc, but I think 14-16k is a fair price for the PW3, now this also already includes your solar inverter as well. Let me know if that makes sense.

They have found that while NMC batteries release more gas than LFP, but that LFP batteries are significantly more toxic than NMC ones in absolute terms.

Not a huge fan because they don't have a big customer service presence yet. Tesla at least has local to US presence with service, as bad as their customer service is. Anker is a pretty cool and good product, nothing against it really. Its more of a concern, that if in 2 or 3 years they don't gain much market share they will leave the business and homeowners will be left with no warranties. So I like it much but I am a bit concern to spend money on those products. There is always some risk.

I am thinking about creating an off grid system here in Austin. If it is 11.5 KW continuous power, then what kind of home systems can be used for 3 power wall 3’s. If I want to turn on AC + dryer + charge a car simultaneously (Some other small things too but these are the major electric components in any house) I feel like this requires something like 20KW continuous power, so technically 3 powerwall3’s should be good enough, right ?

you probably don't need that much continuous power. If your loads take more than the PW can supply then it will just take it from the grid. In a power outage you should be conserving power so your continuous power probably wont go over 11.5 kw.

So, according to the specification sheet, the "Continuous" output of a single powerwall 3 (@1:28) is 11.5kW or 11,500 watts. So yes, if you have 3 of them it would handle all 4 loads, provided that you split up your loads properly. Just remember that they only store about 13.5 kWh (kilowatt hours) per unit. For example if you are using 1000 watts for 10 hours that's 10 kilowatt hours and if you use 10,000 watts for 1 hour, that is equal to 10 kilowatt hours. So, 3 of those powerwalls has about ~40.5 kWh combined (and you usually cannot use ALL of that), so if you ran all of those devices 5+5+10+5 at one time that's 25kW -- You would completely drain the batteries in about 1.6 hours. (actually less because most systems don't let you bottom out the storage). You wouldn't want to combine heavy inductive loads on the same unit, in case they both needed to start at the same time. Please note that a 5 Ton AC unit would be OK, but just be aware that of 2 things: #1, unless it is very old, it probably doesn't use 5000 watts to cool. However, if it is a HEAT PUMP type AC (not just an A/C alone) -- then you might run into trouble if the temperatures got very low... because there's emergency heat generating "resistance coils" built into those... and depending on the size of those coils, you might overload your Powerwall.
