    About 170 seconds per casting, I think. So, theoretically about 500 per day per machine. Giga Berlin with 8 of these, assuming 4 for rear and 4 for front casting, that is 14,000 cars a week, or a run rate of 728,000 a year just for the Model Y in the European market.

    My napkin math got 193 seconds or 448 per 24h day so we're in the same ballpark at least. Looks like Texas will have 6 of these. If that's 3 front, 3 rear. If they're all at the same speed... 500x3 = 1500 per day, 10,500 per week, 546k per year.

    The cycle time for the rear casting is under 4 minutes. A new part every 4 minutes. I wonder if they are still tweaking the process or if it is already dialed in? This includes the time it takes to cool the mold and apparently spray some mold release oil inside. Remember, the video was running at 8X in that sequence.

  • @marksaake
    @marksaake3 жыл бұрын

    From my timings, it looks like it takes about 3 minutes to make a casting. About 20 seconds to open and extract the casting, 100 seconds to clean/prep the press for next casting, and then about 60 seconds to inject/form the new casting. Did anyone else get similar numbers (Or Gabe can you verify from the non-sped up video?) That would give a capacity of about 480/day/press, or with the two presses in Fremont, a run rate of 350K/year .

    this should be banned if not sanctioned by TSLA... imagine a nefarious actor dropping something to sabotage the operation...

    Thumbs down from me as well, too much of an invasion and could jeopardize other drone flyers. This factory is why Tesla exists today but it is so disjointed but Tesla has sure maximized it. No wonder why they wanted to build their own designed factories to revolutionize auto production in Shanghai and soon Berlin & Austin.

    Ich glaube ich verkaufe meine Tesla-Aktien jetzt ganz schnell.... Unglaubliche Ineffizienz in der Herstellung und das Werk ist ne bessere Müllkippe. Lieber Tesla du hast einen genialen Powertrain, hohle dir egal von welchem Autobauer Hilfe was effizientes Montieren von Autos (Toyota, Kia, Honda...) ist. Dann explodiert deine Wirtschaftlichkeit. Das auf dem Video ist auf dem Niveau einer Textilfabrik in Bangladesh. Umweltschutz ist ein Fremdwort, wenn es regnet sind die Presen Nass oder die Karosserieen die von einer in die andere Halle fahren.
