Tesla Full Self Driving Beta #FSDBeta SW: 2020.48.10.1
A little over a month ago we tested FSDbeta on Lombard Street (one of the crookedest streets in the world). It had difficulty with speed and turns. There have been 5 updates since we were last here and were back to see how has it improved...

An even harder test is the the actual crookedest street in San Francisco. It has seven tough switchbacks and is very steep, so you have to be really attentive and hands on the wheel. It's Vermont street (near SF general). Just south of 20th St. and just east of US Hwy 101. Approach via Kansas St., jog over at 20th St. to Vermont heading south.

The Autopilot reduced speed to 5 miles/h is a great improvement. It used to be limited to 19 miles/h or 30 kilometers/h if I remember. Can you try using kilometers to see how low it can goes, 5 kilometers/h would be about 3 miles/h. Could you also try the Coit tower access which is a little bit crooked to and would be a good candidate. Also the Vermont Street is even harder than the Lombard street. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vermont_Street_(San_Francisco)

So, it's likely Tesla will eventually operate in Waymo's mapped areas on par with Waymo's vehicles (probably better, since Waymo will be bad at handling new developments like construction, until they get remapped, which might have to happen quite frequently) but Waymo's vehicles can never operate on par with Tesla anywhere they haven't mapped. @@yangdaily-andrewyangnewspo6434 I believe it's all real, but I was very confused about what happened with the driveway with the cone. At 1:32 it messed up that turn. At 3:07 we see it taking the turn with help of a cone. At 4:55 we see it take that turn without a cone, and the car is praised for doing it perfectly with zero interventions. It's not clear from the video how many attempts were made, and how many interventions there were in total.

I'm sure the dog walker van driver really appreciated being held up by your beta testing / KZread content making nonsense. How about you get out of people's way while you're making your videos? The world doesn't revolve around you making videos, playing with your car at the expense of other people's time and patience.

Chill dude. I wonder what the normal ratio of "tourists" to "civilians" is on that road, on any given day? Maybe less during COVID-19, but when I've driven on that road, it's always seemed to be mostly tourists like me. If you are a local, you probably find much better ways to get from "A" to "B", than Lombard street!! I don't think most human drivers would entertain going down that road faster than 5 mph anyway!

@@mayorsnorkum4005 Oh I am quite chilled, thank you. Just because a person doesn't appreciate selfish, obnoxious behavior, doesn't mean they need to 'chill'. Moving on, and don't worry, I am still chilled... I highly doubt anyone that's a 'tourist' is out driving a big commercial dog walking van. He probably had appointments to go to, and was obligated to take that road. Surely he doesn't want to be delayed for any length of time due to a Tesla driver out playing with FSD to get clicks on his KZread channel.
