FSD neural net is connected with thousands of cars on the road so it is able to learn at a much faster rate. Perhaps we can assume it might be able to learn most of it in 10 months than what an average human driver learn in 10 years.

WOW! I've seen lots of "My Tesla is learning to drive" videos, but this is the first one that shows HOW it's learning to drive, and it is fascinating. This was great. It answers so many questions. Neural networks and the fleet... Now that it's been pointed out, it makes so much. sense.

Bottom line. Tesla teaches their cars to “think”. Everyone else teaches their cars to “do”. You can’t teach a car to “do” everything, but once it can “think” it can “do” anything.

More reason why cars need cameras and not Lidar, we drive with our eyes, same concept as cameras. Tesla is already able to see more than the human eye, especially with multiple cameras.

Which is exactly why it looks like they're behind. But NN is not as intuitive as the human NN, so it needs lots and lots of examples to finally get it 99.999%. And Tesla has exactly the data collection ability to teach their NN to actually think, at some point it'll be like a switch and it'll all click into place and "just work".
@47DAF
3 жыл бұрын
@@sterrshow5016 I don't get it. ZOOX uses lidar, radar and cameras. What is wrong with using more information? It is more expensive, but from a technical standpoint I don't see a problem. Every sensor has advantages and disadvantages, the others don't have. Why not combine them? That doesn't necessarily mean such a car relies on all sensors working all the time perfectly. It just gives you more safety.
And when he says "ask the fleet" for examples of a scenario, that doesn't mean asking the Tesla drivers to send in examples, that means transmitting image patterns to the hundreds of thousands of vehicles in the fleet and activating automated pattern detection and reporting direct from the AI. So if they need more examples of how to navigate around a car towing a boat, they can send a simplified image template of what a car towing a boat looks like, and hundreds of thousands of cars will scour their camera footage continuously for anything that matches that pattern and automatically transmit video clips to the Tesla servers to aide in further training. Image how powerful that is. Your vehicle almost drives over a pile of garbage on the side of the road, so you hit the little camera button to let Tesla know of the issue. An engineer at Tesla reviews the clip and decides, yep - this needs better training. They put together a simple search pattern for identifying anything that might be garbage on the side of the road and transmit it to the entire fleet of Tesla vehicles, and almost instantly data from all over the country starts pouring in - countless new examples of possible garbage on the side of the road, ready for filtering and training updates to the AI to identify it and navigate around it. Now send hundreds of pattern requests for all kinds of stuff and collect millions of new datasets all day and night to help train the AI for numerous other situations. It's absolutely brilliant. The more cars that are on the road, the faster every crazy corner case can be identified, collected en masse, and trained into the AI. Anything unusual comes up and they can with a click request their army of mobile cameras that are roaming the roads to find and send fresh data for them to use in solving the issue.

Amazing! We’re looking at artificial intelligence/robots on wheels. These cars should be able to talk back 😂 soon
You’ve addressed the elusive autonomous question so well... That question being, “why does it appear that Tesla is behind, when I know it’s actually ahead? - and yet another way to look at this race to autonomy is the old tortoise and hare analogy of course. Great video ... 👍 (a very fast tortoise btw).
The video is a lot different from some of your other videos? Well here's what I think: I loooooooved it.
I already knew most of this. I’ve seen all the videos (including the Karpathy talks) and figured out the same stuff. However, I could never explain it this well. You’ve done an amazing job researching, finding the correct pieces from other videos and drawing the correct conclusion! Very well put together. There is a lot of misconception out there and many people have no idea, how all of this stuff works and why it matters, how Tesla solves these problems. I think it’s an essential part that Elon Musk as the company CEO understands this, too. And it’s a big problem for other manufacturers, that their CEOs don’t have much understanding of the IT side of the cars. Anyway, this is a great video and now I can finally share on this when I discuss about this topic to show other people all these points (without referring them to multiple hour long videos).

Absolutely loved this video!! So insightful. You are the reason why Tesla don’t need advertising. The analysis just sells the product!! Thanks for your hard work.
Fantastic video. Thanks for the thoughtful analysis and background info directly from Tesla. That really helped paint the full picture. I'm pretty confident that they won't come at you for including these! Great job.
Thank you for this in depth, thoughtful and thorough analysis. This is definitely a great companion to the actual driving videos. It is equally, or even more important, to understand what’s happening under the hood then under the wheels.
This was actually a brilliant video, very well though-out, great samples, great clips and a wonderful insight into everything that is coming up in the near future for FSD. Thank you for putting all this together in such a clear and concise presentation.
Speed bumps also don't show on the visualisation, but it definitely controls for them
Thank you for this! It's just so unbelievable to see how this is really happening . Really enjoyed this video .

First time I've seen any of your content and I really enjoyed this video. I appreciate the speculation and then examples supporting that point of view and allowing us to decide. The tone is excited about the tech without attitude or sarcasm--Thank You. Very Cool. Thumbs Up
Like i said last time, you have seriously planted yourself at the top. This new video proves you actually understand the "demand" and that you are capable to produce original content in an environment where we have been flooded with "left turn right turn, drive". I know it will become harder to come up with new stuff. Irrespective of that, the presentation style chosen by you sets you apart from the majority of youtubers, so you can grow your fan base and monetise faster, which will enable you to test MobileEye, Waymo, etc. Good luck!
A great explanation of why the visualization is working. The linking of the TESLA clips to yours makes it easier to understand the advances made by FSD
Thanks for doing this deep dive. Very informative beyond the usual show and no tell
Really appreciate your videos. Good work! Would love to see more uploads. I am convinced that this will change the world, much more than people can imagine.
Excellent guesses with support for the arguments. Enjoyable and thought provoking. Thanks. 🤔
Excellent video! I enjoyed seeing Andrej Karpathi's descriptions in the context of your driving. Andrej is capable of conveying so much information with his rapid burst style of speaking. I learn so much by listening to him. I've messed about a bit with neural nets, and I find them fascinating. I think their potential is nowhere near being exhausted. This is exponential growth, and most humans are terrible at perceiving that.

Excellent video! I can't wait the next one!!!
I like your measured-sounding interpretation of what you are seeing. While normally I am uninterested in a KZreadr's speculation about FSD capabilities and internals, you bring reason and evidence to your analyses.
The best FSD Beta video of all, by far!! And I’ve watched a lot of them. You’re not only a driver and Tesla fanboy. You have the mindset of an autonomous car researcher. Lex Fridman should have you in his podcast. That’s how good you are. Subscribed!
Great video, nice job looking back and connecting the dots (with video clips and examples)!
Brother, you are 100% correct. FSD beta is proof that Tesla has won the race. I have a CS background. I can guarantee Tesla has a 5 year lead on the competition. I don’t think they’ll be able to catch up. Tesla has the “source of truth” output plus the video input for billions of real world miles. You’ve backed the right horse. Tesla for the win!!
Absolutely fantastic, thanks.
12:45 nice observation! Seems is focusing the processing power into checking coming cars, priorizing safety. Once its sure everything is clear, starts going and visualizes what could be obstacles in its way. Btw, loved the terminator driving a truck thumbnail! Definitelly made me subscribe! I cant believe you have such few subscribers.
Wow truly enlightening video John, I rank it #1 in the great many FSD Beta vids I have seen! That non existing parallel road it imagines behind the bushes convinced me it makes up its own map by vision and NN as it goes. Unlike Waymo & Co. At some point it has to reconcile what it sees with actual map for navigation though, this must be very tricky at times !
Best FSD video I've seen. Love the insights into how it works and why it's far superior to competitors' systems. Subscribed!

Fantastic video.Thank you
It’s very convincing as your the FSD user. The video gave me great confidence on Tesla. Thank you.
12:24 Agreed. What it shows in the visualization is there for the user, based on things like certainty(of what it is seeing), relevance, distance, minimizing processing, and probably some limit to avoid the scene being too visually cluttered. When it comes to the AI driving, all objects at all times are going to be accounted for. But the UI Visualization is completely separate -- it makes decisions on what is interesting/useful to show the user, based on the output of the AI.
Very good analysis... Kudos... 👍

I too have been surprised that no one seems to recognize or talk about how the current FSD is THE essential foundation or skeleton upon which they'll simply overlay the great 3d graphics they had before. Like you said, the eye candy will "wow" the world, but that's not the important part at all... we're seeing the vital evolution happening right now... in crappy dot images, and most people can't recognize how amazing it is.
