Great video, but it is unfortunate that you didn't test "Rock Mode" as that would have likely completely changed the suspension flex result. From the Cybertruck manual: "When the ride height is Very High, the suspension system pneumatically connects the springs on the front and rear axles, increasing suspension articulation for maximum traction."

12:12 We've had to replace the rear brakes on our electric vehicles because they corrode/rust --- because a) they do not heat up and dry from rain/snow/etc and b) the rear brakes do less than the front brakes so even when you do require manual braking (vs all regen) they don't heat up. VERY important to get your brakes cleaned & lubed annually on electric vehicles as pins corred and pads don't slide so may wear prematurely. I've experienced this as well putting off clean & lube one year.

The Pathfinder has a fancier rear suspension, likely more travel in the front, and a limited slip in the rear vs an open diff in the frontier. Unfortunately it also has a stiff unibody . The frontier creaks and twists over things while the Pathfinder will get 2 wheels off the ground.

  • @dyrmose11

You said that the suspension gets stiffer when you raise the suspension due to higher air pressure. That's not how an airspring is working if you drive a truck the pressure is the samme in a low setting as an raise hight. When you raise the air suspension of a truck you put more volume of air in the suspension, but the airbag is not an ballon or a tire what happens i that the airbag is slides up and down on an iron cone so no matter the hight the pressure will be the same. That's why it is easy to make DIY weight scale on a truck so you can tjek the vehicle isn't over the weight limit. Hope you understanding my very pour English Thank for a great video Yous truly Brian from Denmark 😊

A vehicle that is meant to tow/carry payload the rear brakes are more important than the front. The rear is the center of mass, and when braking, trailer dive will tend to float the front and compress the rear. Like the lack of articulation this seems like a half baked design by a team that doesn’t understand the use case.

it will definitely go a bit higher with the "locked diff" mode. I have no way to say how much higher though. they will 100% do it because its just a sofrware update. also because its so vertically integrated and almost all electronics are made in house and sharing the ethernet data connection, it shouldnt be really that complicated . they will never miss on the opportunity to improve a product significantly with just software which is the easiest way for tesla which is not only a car but also a software company. a Also looking at the air suspension , it is most likely that they could go much further and dynamically adjust the suspension height independently on each wheel. this could only work in a slow rock crawling mode because rhe airbags will take seconds to adjust, maybe about 10s from lowest to highest. I can see it outperform off road truck in artculation test with an additional 4 in in each direction

Other than a microscopic layer of brake pad material transferring over, it’s all metal. Some grooving is normal, especially when overheated/abused (such as during instrumented tests). BEVs default to regen, meaning they often suffer from not using their brakes enough on the street to cook off water, resulting in extra rust (particularly where road salt is used).
