Tesla Cybertruck - Greatest Automotive Hoax Of All Time?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The Cybertruck is FINALLY here! And not just as a test mule or a prototype, but as a actual, production ready, deliverable driveable pickup!
And the fact it’s faster than a 911 Carrera… while towing a 911 Carrera…
Means EV’s are officially out of control!
EXCEPT - it’s been lying to you. That drag race video that’s gone viral?
Well… internet sleuths have discovered it was an 1/8th mile run - not a full quarter.
And that 911 in the race? There’s evidence to support that it’s the SLOWEST version of the car you can buy. Then there’s the fact that the truck that was SUPPOSED to cost around $40 grand, actually starts at DOUBLE that!
Today, we’re going to take a quick look at both the Cybertruck,
And some of the quickest EVs in the world
To highlight just how crazy Tesla’s new angular behemoth really is!
Let’s go!

The cyber truck is not a gimmick, but the body shape is. I understand it was necessary for the coefficient of drag, but a Corvette has an incredible coefficient of drag. I look forward to a revision that has a more pleasing aesthetic, and even better performance when used like a truck. The 0 to 60 time is fun to talk about, but I don’t care how fast it is when I’m towing my wakeboard boat to and from the lake. It needs to have range, payload and people capacity. If it takes an extra battery in the bed to improve the range, then it’s not going to function very well when you load up Waters sports gear, coolers, etc.

The bottom line for me is, if I am buying something I have to look at and drive every day then I’m going to buy something that I’m proud to be seen in. I’m not gonna go out and buy an ugly vehicle just to be “one the cool kids,” IMO. @@ThelifeofKingfish Chuck is just a generic bloke! For work I drive a pick up truck, it is also a family car. 4-5 seater. All whistles & bells. Very Tax efficient in the UK. I do about 36-40K miles a year. Very little in the load bay! I've had them all. They are all very good with their own little quirks. My last one was a Ford Wildtrak 3.2L Diesel. 0-62mph about 9secs. So I would not buy for accel or top speed! Purely practicality! Nobody wants to race you away from the lights! Nobody want to cut in front of you or have you too close to their rear fender! They do 30-34 mpg and a bi-annual service keeps it in good fettle. Tyres run for about 40K miles barring problems. But the big benefit is crash survivability! They are built on a solid ladder chassis. Yes they have door bars in the doors in the normal position where cars would. But that means about 4 foot off the floor! In the event of a fender bender or some lunatick car driver or delivery van bump. Who's going to come off worse. They say Size Matters! Weight takes some stopping! Our out of the box 1 Ton Pickups. Top of the range models are pretty cool comfortable and very well appointed. The New Nissan Navarro now has coilovers & discs at the rear so should be even more comfortable. Some people even think they are sexy! This cyberbeast fills many of my criteria. The charge at home, starting everyday with a full tank of Juice! Not many days per year I do over 350 miles all told. So 400mile range is more than adequate. Spouses as with everything, try before you buy! I choose a partner like I would a cell phone! You can get the same for for the similar money contract or burner! So, it's all about the upgrade/s & the frequency of change! Ooops we are back to chatting a trucks again!

The released crash test video does show the vehicle deforming and absorbing lots of energy. Please be reminded that whatever means are used to reduce the energy transferred to the passengers, the tests do include sensors in the dummies that help determine the safety. I quite don't understand why so many in the media affirm categorically that the car is a death trap because it lacks crumple zones and other features they claim not to be there. Probably, in the near future there will be more information available, but I do expect the CT to be quite safe based on the comments by Tesla and people that know more than I do.

Even so, the travel distance of the test dummy's head was a lot shorter than the dummy in the F-150, which means less time for energy to be absorbed by the truck. And Tesla didn't show the return of the head back to the seat back - they cut off the video. Undoubtedly, they didn't show the whole video for a reason!

Now it seats the same as a Honda Civic, but I'm hoping it will be more comfortable and the max distance is somewhere around 300, which is about what I drive in a week. I'm concerned about the towing aspect. It needs to be able to move a 24' pontoon boat, but not very far, however, I have a small 16 foot aluminum boat and I'm hoping the range is impacted far less than that of the F150 lightning.

Most cars and trucks today make liberal use of high strength steel, but even a good grade of carbon steel is "stronger" and less susceptible to stress cracks than any 300 grade stainless. SS scratches easily too. The magnet free motor, 48V, and drive by wire are great, but the body is a hot mess. Elon is no engineer.

Who wants one of these Cybertrucks? 🤔 Anyone who has put the aftermarket 2” or 5” lift on their Tesla model Y will want one of these. Also every 5 year old boy wants one. BTW, there’s a 5 year boy inside every man from 5 years old to 100! 😉

i myself hate electric cars in general Tesla mostly but i expected this "vehicle" to have the same outcome of the failed ford f150 lighting. Please respond to this if you strongly dislike electric cars. No electric car will ever beat the sound of a Lamborghini next to you. like would you rather get a ride in a lambo or tesla? I had my bucket list dream come true for my 17th bday less than a month ago, I got to go for a ride in a Lamborghini Huracan STO! tell me when my dream ride can be beat by a ride in a tesla ill tell u never!

Cybertruck is a piece of junk. This piece of garbage took more than 4 years to deliver to the public and that costs almost double the price offered if it is bulletproof if it crashes into another vehicle or runs over a person it will cause triple the damage to the other vehicle and if it were a dead person for sure. And how much is it going to cost to fix that monstrosity? When would you pay insurance for that thing? And is that a pickup or what? and for someone who uses a pickup truck, I think they are going to lack space to load things in the back. I don't understand how someone is going to spend money on that horrible piece of metal if they have already seen that the heads cannot even be used on long trips for transportation because There are no chargers.

Maaaannnn…. I used to be a cheerleader for Tesla. Now everything they do, other companies do worlds better. All while their CEOs aren’t insane meme morons or cryptobros. Lucid’s going to absolutely ruin Tesla if they can make their cars cheaper. And I would much rather have a Ford Lightning or the Rivan truck over this unfinished monstrosity. But hey, at least it looks like what I thought cars would look like now, when I was a kid.

You must be joking? Cyber truck just broke the truck world, trucks hasn't changed for the last 70 years. Cyber truck just introduced a new way of making trucks like using giga casting, stainless steel body with aluminium frame, 48 volt system which reduces electric cables by 75% and so on.

Hmmm. You start right ot with a lie. You state that the Cybertruck was supposed to start at $40K, and is double that. Liar. The 2WD version was supposed to be $40K and will be available for $60K. Disappointing, but not double. I stopped watching at that point. If you're going to start lying in the first few seconds of your video, the rest is obviously BS too.
