CT isn't using mud tires, it's AT tires. The Hummer is 3 seconds 0-60, near half a second more than the CT, but in the video it wasn't in the launch mode (WFT), what can be confirmed by the suspension height. It also appears to launch considerably earlier than the Rivian. CT don't need any of this to be superior.

They're a drag racing channel. They probably aren't Truck experts. Besides it crushes the Ford F350 in towing. You will have to wait a bit for more stuff on actual truck things but it will come.

I had to laugh where they mentioned the Hummer was a poster child for engineering inefficiency. I mean, I hate what the hummer represents, but out of all the cars in the world, JC was on the one car that is FAR worse. The insistence of mud tires, having seen countless videos on how incapable the CT is offroad, I wouldn't want to draw attention to "sick offroad rubber" when any generic CUV in generic tires is more competent offroad. The irrelevance of drag coefficient numbers to sports cars with actual downforce is... C'mon they know better. I'll stop ranting now. But not because of lack of disinformation. I hope the money the team took was worth it, cause for me their reputation is so tarnished after this, and if a reviewer doesn't have a good reputation, what do they have?

the craziest part of this video for me was I never realized how insane the tires on the LM002 are

I heard a Tesla podcaster today say that "Hagerty is maybe the best KZread editing he's seen." That's a gross understatement. This is the best video editing, ever. The special effects are constant, and sometimes subtle, and the audio is constantly being edited and spliced in, and there's so much editing that it's basically a Hollywood level production every single time. Today I heard Jason say that it takes them about 4 months to finish a single video, because of the planning and post-editing involving. The Tesla Plaid vs. Lucid Air video has some of the most beautiful video editing I've ever seen in any video period.

This video should've premiered at the cybertruck delivery event, it'd be a bomb.

Also it's dual cab, so not as much cargo space as a single cab truck, which is way more useful for actual truck work. They didn't do any trucking in this video. They only compared the trucks based on sport car terms... So yes, among all the pickup trucks, the cybertruck is the best sports car...

I don't know where you got your numbers from (because they did NOT test these things in these video), but for every of these metrics there are pick up trucks in existence already who do it better.

9:30 you can't double dip on the higher voltage advantage. Either you make the cables smaller or increase the efficiency. If you decrease the cable size then you are decreasing the resistance and therefore increase losses. There is still some overall advantage to both but it isn't just the best of both worlds. Also with EVs, higher voltage is not always more efficient. All of the switching components, e.g. your inverters, have higher switching losses at higher voltages. In general, the only main benefit of higher voltage comes with charging since charging has the highest currents and charging cables are mostly current limited. 10:15 48V isn't as common because it is just not that easy. Most car electronics don't even operate on 12V but on 3.3-5V (microcontrollers, CAN, logic gates, etc). Switching from 12V to 3.3/5V is relatively straight forward, but gets much less efficient and bulky at 48V. Additionally, higher voltages = more magic black smoke if you put the wrong voltage in the wrong place, so you need larger protection circuits and more caution as well. 11:25 what about the Lexus RZ 450e? Pretty sure that came with steer by wire first.

It'll get stuck going off road, which is why they reviewed a pickup truck on a race track and gave no towing or payload information. I like Jason, but he needs to stick to cars and suv's. It'll be just as off road capable as most half tons. Basically dirt roads. I do not understand why they compared this to the Hummer EV.

Your points are illustrative of the point I’m making: while the trucks may appeal to those looking for something impressive (cornering/acceleration), it isn’t going to appeal to the larger truck market (one of the biggest in the US). That would be folks like myself who need utility & range that most truck buyers want, especially while towing.

I have watched this at least six times. I have watched the other two as well by MKBHD and Top Gear (not as many times). This video by Jason Camissa is bar far the best, most thorough, and well -presented Cybertruck review on the internet. Thanks Jason and Hagerty!

Firstly when did production quality of KZread videos exceed Television? I can't stand pickup trucks, but in all frankness what Tesla have achieved here is impressive, think I will test drive a Model 3.

While I can’t call Jason a friend, I met him back in 2011 when he drove and wrote in Automobile Magazine about my 1991 Peugeot 405 mi16 | “The Last Tango from Paris” Automobile, Nov ‘11 | and I can tell you two obvious character traits about the man: 1.) He truly loves cars and knows the good from the bad. And 2.) He’s a creative force of nature and cannot be bought, so you may be sure that what you see here is the straight dope. Well done!! A break out moment for Jason, his squad, and the biggest tech breakthrough since the 1955 Citroen DS.

Never thought an automobile review series could rival the OG Top Gear reviews. Hagerty has done it. Immense production quality every time. So captivating!

Tesla gave them an exclusive review thats why they are riding Elon so hard. The hummer ev does 0-60 in 3 seconds it obviously wasn't in WTF mode and they didn't use launch control. It should of been alot closer. They had its suspension raised is how u can tell. I can't afford the hummer but they definitely disrespected it

Really great content. One topic I would like to see more coverage is the over the air software update process. To me that is the one feature that sets Tesla apart from the rest. Perhaps point out the software and update process for each brand EV and compare them.

That go kart scene is just incredible, look at the bus moving like a W14 because of this steer-by-wire thing

It's not, it didn't even used it as a truck to properly review it. Just drove it around as a standard car and showed a kart in the bed with no comment on usability. It's nothing more than a well produced advert.

The Closed Captioning is hilarious! Great review, as always!

Cubertruck is great and all, but this video was phenomenal. Such high production quality and standards. Loved it.

Best Cybertruk debut video out there by a mile... it ain't even close. Y'all crushed this one... good work.

I wasn't a fan of tesla cars mainly because im 6'8 and 300lbs. But after watching a few videos about the Cyber Truck, i have to say im a fan now. It may not look like a pickup truck, but that's why i think i like it. I drive a 2017 f150 3.5 and i love it. My next truck will be a Cyber truck or a Ford Lightning. I could go a month or more without needing to charge either truck. I get gas for my Ford once a month so i cant imagine i will need to charge an EV that often. I also live in the canadian snowbelt where we get hit with alot of snowfall. I would love to own both trucks and do a comparison, but at the end of the day, its just a vehicle. A to B that's it.

Jesus, just incredible production. Insanely good. Cameo appearance from Jason at Engineering explained, Randy and finally Camissa's killing the presentation.......I could go on and on. Well done. Just a new standard all round.

I've watched this full episode at least 3 times, the combination of Cybertruk and Jason Cammisa is highly entertaining and informative.

Came here just give props to Jason Cammisa on some of the other interviews/podcasts i have seen in the last few days where he talked about facts vs opinions. It was a joy to listen to someone that does his best to get the facts separated from opinions and keeps space to consider he might be wrong and adapts or looks into 'facts' others bring up. Even if he fails and creates a 'gotcha' moment. If only more of the press and/or people where like this instead of hiding behind 'my feelings' which most of the time means i write clickbate s*** to get the clicks and make some money. I would advice others here to watch some of his guest appearances on other podcasts. Now i am not much of a car guy anymore and my fav. car is still a the Citroen DS second gen around 1970's timeframe but i am biased for sure since my dad worked for the citroen car company for +50 years. No idea what Hagerty was since i am in the netherlands and i move about on my bicycle most if the time but respect for hiring this guy and giving him space to give masterclasses on how you split facts from feelings as best as he can.

Jason, you, hagerty, Randy, are creating a new vibe in the community that’s becoming a thing in the car culture. Please please and please, don’t stop making these videos. For a long time, I haven’t been this excited about a new KZread release… Since Top Gears days… As many have mentioned, unf******* believable production. I now want a cybertruck. Ever since the Gtr video you guys made, I knew you guys were onto something. 🙏🏻

The lab coat, protective glasses and white board out in the middle of nowhere was a great touch.

We all love Doug when he talks about Quirks & Features (Copyright)…. But when Jason puts out a video on a vehicle it’s in a whole nother level. Even Savagegeese has to be impressed.

I'm truly impressed. I honestly thought this vehicle would probably never see production, or if it did it would look little like its concept - and certainly perform well below expectations. This is quite an extraordinary achievement.

is the rear-view camera image as distorted as that of the current model 3? Ours makes approaching cars appear much farther away than they actually are.

It's been a hell of a time since I didn't watch an entire KZread review without skipping a single second, this one is a masterpiece! Totally worth it! I Can't wait to have a Cybertruck!

It's more an advertisement than a review if we're honest. They wouldn't be allowed to have their hands on it yet otherwise. Same with all the other 'reviews'. I did enjoy the video though and the Tesla engineering team should be applauded.

This review felt like a movie made by Chris Nolan. Well made. Bravo!

such an amazing review I’ve never seen production quality this good on KZread other than cartrek before it’s almost grand tour vibes when they use to review cars I loved every second of this review!

One thing you forgot about the drive-by wire on an airplane is that air planes are maintained and have yearly inspection and are after a certain amount time had passed the plane is fully taken apart and any I main any fault is found no matter how small it's replaced. So you can't use a plan as an example.

Hagerty and jason cammisa you've outdone yourself. Never in my miata loving life did I think I'd watch a video on huge electric pickup truck but here we are and it's brilliant. Thank you for providing us with this beautiful content

This is one of the best Cybertruck videos I've seen to date. Great job!

This was ridiculously well done, the information and factoids crammed into this is incredible. I'm glad I stuck with it after yt autoplayed it to me, I still think it's hideous but you've certainly changed my mind on it's engineering and Tesla's in general.
