Terrain Tutorial: Bridges and Catwalks for Warhammer 40k, Necromunda and Kill Team (Part 1)
Фильм және анимация
In the first part of this series I show how to make 3 different kinds of bridges and catwalks for Warhammer 40k, Necromunda and Kill Team.
Should I type SEO terms here? Craft Hobby Scratch-built Art Sci-fiGrimdark Inquisitor Inquisimunda Wargames Terrain Wargaming Tabletop. Worth a shot I suppose. Hope you enjoy.

Fun fact: In 40k hazard stripes ARE a design element. The people of the 41st millenium have actually forgotten the reason/purpose behind hazard stripes but they're so prevalent that industrial groups have taken them on as a sort of heraldry. This is why they seem to be basically everywhere such as on knight shoulderpads and the reason they're used by the Iron Warriors.

That caution striping placement is so sensible and such a nice detail, it really shows what kind of builder you are. I adore it.

You only have a few videos right now, but if you keep up the good work I am sure you have the potential to be one of the top. You use cheap, easy obtainable materials. You show exactly what you do even if nothing requires great experience. So everybody following your videos can build an individual, full, interesting, awesome looking, fun to play on, table with a very limited budget and resources. PERFECT!!!!

I think a good way to spice up smaller skirmish games is to have more pieces of scatter that makes an environment feel more lived in. IE trash cans, benches, lockers, destroyed vehicles, chairs, ect. I think a whole video could be done on that alone.
@EricsHobbyWorkshop

tt Scatter terrain is especially important for blocking line of sight too! Great suggestion.
This is THE channel I had been waiting for. Solving so many questions in 10 minutes, I've been searching for catwalk materials that looked decent for hours lol. Thanks a lot.
Your miniatures are amazing and your voice is very relaxing, I started falling asleep watching the video lol
I FIND IT INCREDIBLY THERAPEUTIC TO LISTEN AND WATCH AS YOU TAKE THESE ITEMS AND CONSTRUCT THEM INTO WORKS OF WONDER THAT I FEEL CAN RIVAL SOME OF THE BUILDS FROM THE G.W. MODELS. ALSO KUDOS FOR ACKNOWLEDGING THE OTHER CRAFTERS THAT INSPIRE YOU. WELL DONE.
I found a fireman's ladder truck at the dollar store and used the sides of its ladder for truss's. As usual great video.

For added detail, you could put a clearance length on the bottom of high arches like those pipes, to indicate to passing vehicles the maximum size that can pass underneath.

Reaver70 Thanks for the feedback. I played around with some cross braces, but they ultimately made it tricky to manoever miniatures and so i opted not to. I also store the bridges inside each other like Russian nesting dolls, so the open top allows that.

Eric do you know about pvc pipe bending kits? They are silicone slugs that fit inside the pipe. Then you heat the pvc with a heat gun and then bend the pipe. Im sure these slugs can easily be made. The point is the pipe bends without kinking.
Found it!
This is an awesome video. The stencil for hazard strips is wonderful. How well does the hot glue adhere to the various types of materials...the wire mesh, the plastic card, etc? Are you using a high temp glue gun so you have more time to adjust materials before they dry? Great video!
You did it again. You amazed me. Have you thought about Thundercat's terrain or even Thundarr's?
It had previously taken me while to find vinyl coated floral mesh, but using it for railing has been brilliant. Thank you for the great video(s) and the wonderful tips. Though to be honest, did you ever make an official part 2?
wow
Plz make munda towers!
Do you happen to have a link available for the floral mesh you got? Also, I snagged some sculpting mesh, but I like the amount you found. Do you have a link for that as well?

Fantastic video - subscribed. Would it be possible to get a link to the floral mesh product? Trying to source similar on amazon and the dimensions seem to either be far too small or far too large. Will pop in to my local gardening shop but any steer would be useful. Keep up the great work!

@@EricsHobbyWorkshop You could also take some plastic hair curlers from the dollar tree and cut off your railings. You can straighten the curve by dipping them in boiling water to soften the plastic and then sandwiching them between two books.
What are the pink plastic pieces at 0:29 called?
I have found PVC pipe can be rather expensive if you get enough to do something like this. It's cool but have you found a way to get the pipe cheaply somewhere?
@EricsHobbyWorkshop

I bought the pieces at Home Depot I believe. I don't recall the exact prices but I don't remember thinking it was expensive either. Individual pieces are definitely cheaper at bigger stores.. My local small mom n pop hardware store sells PVC for much more.
