Either way I was a powder keg of emotion waiting to boil over into a cascade of action later I washed up on the beach and saw a piece of driftwood wash by me. Maybe that's why Heihachi got the Tekken Force to drag the reporter away. Because the guy's lack of emotion was depressing him. I suppose you could explain the reporter's monotone by saying that Jin destroying his town and causing the death of his son traumatised him to the point where he became dead inside but nah I think it's just bad voice acting.

I really feel for Heihachi on this one. You can tell that he really loved his wife. He was willing to just settle down with her, but then she just went batshit crazy. Kazumi talking about him being a threat when she was the one who started it. Also if he knew that the Hachijo Clan was the mastermind, why didn't Heihachi hunt them down instead of going after his son and grandson? He had the money and power to do so.

I suspect this will be the story of Tekken 8: learning about the Hachijo Clan. How do they connect to Azazel, the Rectifier and Originator of the Devil Gene? Why didn't Heihachi start a private investigation towards the Hachijo Clan? Did Claudio know about the Clan? And was it their Devil Gene or some other force that corrupts Jinpachi after so many years?

I have a theory. Once Heihachi knew, he used his infinite resources to destroy any Hachicho member that has the Devil Gene with a few of them managing to survive and escape

I always though Heihachi was the 1 who started this chain. But now.... Kazumi. She tried to stop him from something when she was the 1 who start it. Heihachi came evil after this and innocent Kazuya , who had a chance to be human , was judged by his father and become evil to.

She was childhood friends with her husband Heihachi and eventually they fell in love. Through their love they birthed a healthy young boy. Fast forward a few years later, Heihachi would become the head of a huge organization called the Mishima Zaibatsu, with plans to conquer the world. Kazumi loved Heihachi unconditionally, but at the same time he was beginning to feel dangerous. In this state, Heihachi threw the world into a war and Kazumi took it upon herself to stop him.

No, Hachijo clan is not nemesis of mishimas For millennia, the Hachijou clan, inheritors of demonic blood in Kyoto, have operated in the shadows, assassinating those who were deemed a threat to the world. During the early parts of the mid 20th Century, Kazumi Hachijou was sent to Jinpachi Mishima's dojo, where she met Heihachi. The clan saw that Heihachi's ambition would lead to great tragedy across the globe, which proved to be prophetic. And so after five years of marriage, Kazumi would act on the clan's orders to destroy Heihachi, but despite her powers she failed and was beaten by him.

Funny thing about the Devil Gene people don't know (considering they could be new to the Tekken series), is that it causes a split personality when it isn't fully mastered. This was proven in Tekken 2, when the gene was taking over Kazuya's mind, and in Tekken 4 when Devil, the malignant presence in the Devil Gene cells, took over Kazuya for a moment before Kazuya forcibly bonded with it using his own Mishima power to do it. Whenever Jin turns to Devil Jin initially, he had absolutely no control, it acted independent of his will. Remember in the trailer, Kazumi had no complete mastery of it, so it would overtake her many times with her unaware.

@@arbiteras honestly it's not a retcon back in Tekken 1 we didn't even know why kazuya and heihachi were fighting people kept thinking heihachi wants to kill kazuya for no reason or jealous of his power but that's not the case the reason why he turned out this way because he lost everything cause of the devil Gene heihachi had no choice to kill his wife also there's no way he'll get through kazuya either since he has the Devil Gene and hatred of his father for killing his mother.

I guess this makes sense now... It was Kazumi's fault, her fault that Heihachi wen't to extreme lengths to get rid of the devil gene and why things are as it is today. He was heartbroken that the lady he fell in love with had a hatred for him.. Kazuya could've been a good kid if it wasn't for her.

remember that heihachi imprisoned his own father under honmaru to get M.Z. for himself, this is when they were married and kazuya was borned. so thats why kazumi tried to do all that. however i think that she always loved him after all, but the Gene corrupted her personality; my theory is that the Hachijou clan send their killers depending on the Gene to do most of the work, without thinking in the consequences, seeming that it cant be controlled properly. Kazumi wanted to stop her husband and made a pact with Akuma knowing that maybe her humanity would be wiped out fully, you can correct me if you want. P.D: i love Akuma, he's the boss.

Madheim777 from what I understood Heihachi already started a war(after locking up Jinpachi) and therefore Kazumi had to stop him. Yes she loved him as seen in the trailer while she's talking to Akuma. She knew Heihachi and Kazuya would have been evil to the core.

I think he told the reporter about his past in a last ditch attempt to restore his and the Mishima Zaibatsu's reputation after Kazuya made the world think the Mishima Zaibatsu had destroyed their own satellite by shooting it with a Devil beam and probably to try and get sympathy from the world before he went to face Kazuya.

I hope she'll be back in the next game. I really like her playstyle.

Kazumi is the wife of Heihachi, and mother of Kazuya. And in regards to the main bad guy, it was Heihachi, but the focus is now shifted to Kazuya. Jin, the son of Kazuya and Jun, is now the next anti-hero.

When tekken 8 comes out I feel like Heihachi is gonna be a memory character like Kazumi is here

This whole time heihachi was right, he tried to kill kazuya and Jin to prevent their devil gene to control the Mishima zaibatsu which unfortunately he couldn't.

When Heihachi and Tekken Force shoot Jin

When I first saw this, I thought it would be a revenge notion. Instead, it was heartbreaking for me to learn that once Heihachi did give a damn about someone more than just power.

"At that time, I had no idea..." "At that time, I had no idea..." "At that time, I had no idea..." Just shut up

I like to think Devil orchestrated ALL of this so he could create a host out of the Mishima bloodline. He had influenced the Hachijo Clan via their Devil Gene, using their "prophecy" as a ruse to target Heihachi. I mean, look at Heihachi. Even without a Devil Gene or some vengeful spirit possessing him, he looks OP, lmao. He defeated a Devil Kazumi (and possibly hunted down the rest of her family afterward, which's why the journalist never found them). He survived getting thrown off a cliff. He got slammed into the ground from several stories high by a Devil Jin and got up soon after as if it was nothing. A robot tried blowing him up but only ended up launching him into the air like a silly cartoon character. And now we have him keeping up with Kazuya in this game's final battle, even beating him out of his evolved Devil form - and that's after getting blasted by multiple Devil lasers. If Devil wants an ideal host, it would be Heihachi's son.

Kazumi was basically a self fulfilling prophecy since Heichachi only became obsessed with power over grief

Imagine Heihachi dying but coming back in Tekken 8 with an Angel Form 😧

" You will one day become a threat to this world" This means THAT heihachi has no intentions of Global Domination until this happened huh, his grandpa and all the shitshow and the one that started it all is Kasumi. If Only Kasumi approached it with another way with a more hopeful thinking that by confessing to him before getting married that she is an assassin of Hachijo and a demoness and them having a talk of husband and wife and friends and that she knows that even if he doesn't accept her she will still accept it and Heihachi might accept this that her wife is like this and obliterate the whole Domination thing unless The Hachijo did something which instead of Family against themselves, it will be Hachijo and The Mishimas duking it out and we all know who will win this.

Inconsistent story though...they made it a point to portray heihachi as the sympathetic anti hero BUT what about leaving his father Jinpachi for death beneath the Honmaru. What about throwing a small kid from a cliff? What if kazuya never had the devil in him was it worth the risk? What about wang, michelle, yoshimitsu.... Pacific individuals and sworn enemies of heihachi at the same time. What about feeding his nephew jin to ogre, and placing a bullet in his head right after the fight? The inconsistency with the character's development is ridiculous

AgentJFM91 Everything Heihachi did prior to killing Kazumi was because of fear. He trapped Jinpachi under Hon Maru to see if the devil gene was on his side of the family, he then threw kaz off the cliff to see if he also had the devil gene (was right), and shot jin in the head to see if he had the devil gene (was right again).He basically became mentally unstable after killing her, but his heart was in the right place. The side characters never had a main contribution to the main story in Tekken (Besides Paul Phoenix in Tekken 3)

@@Kazama_T Go read up the credits of the games. He was a producer from Tekken 4 and was director from Tekken 6. Hajime Nakatami was the main producer from Tekken to Tekken 6. Seichi Ishii was the creator of Tekken. Harada was just a VA for Yoshimitsu.

I've never really been a fan of teken....but put Akuma in it and boom instant fan...good fight scene good quality video..

Not to break the mood, but just remember that Heihachi's voice actor is also Old Joseph Joestar and Professor Oak.

Heihachi...he is just loving..

I'm still not buying this. Because I'm pretty sure before Kazumi arrived, Heiachi had trapped his father Jinpachi under Honmaru just cause Heiachi felt like he could run the Zaibatsu better (which he sort of did) and Jinpachi (as far as we know) didn't do anything to Heiachi to warrant such an action from him. So before even then Heiachi wasn't really a good person. But I do believe the time he had with Kazumi brought out the best in him. Though his action afterwards I still won't understand. Like him using the Devil Gene and Orge's Blood to make to ultimate being so he could rule the world (Remember that bit, guys?) At one point he actually wanted the Devil Gene so he could infuse it with himself but couldn't make the risk of relinquishing his soul like Kazuya did. That AND he had trained Jin only for the sole purpose of increase his chances of success against Orge, which did happen and proceeded to shoot Jin, and he didn't even know or expect him to have the Devil Gene within him. Even in his Tekken 4 ending, his plan was to kill both Kazuya and Jin and do what? Take over the world, seeing that those two were just about the only ones that could stop him. Kazumi's betrayel didn't make Heihachi who he was. Kazumi was simply an ankle chain and once she died, Heihachi went back to who he really was: A man bent on world domination.

And even then, it merely re-contextualizes(Heihachi wants to kill Kazuya because he reminds him of Kazumi's betrayal and wants to stop the Devil gene from being passed on) and reshuffles events(Jinpachi thing happens after Kazumi's betrayal, since when called out on eventually becoming a threat to the world, Heihachi has no idea tf she's talking about). The only thing it truly changes is shifting the position of the originator of the Devil gene from Jinpachi to Kazumi.

@@TheKain202 if it's bad writing, i'm not buying the retcon, just like Star Wars Revan kotor 2 where Revan was a "the end justify the means" guy that became a sith to save the galaxy, and in SWTOR is retconned in not only being evil because of evil's sake, but even mind controlled to conquer the galaxy, no other reasons. That's how i see it. Jinpachi is not any less, Tekken 5 had everything point at him for being the origin of the Devil Gene. Same as any Tekken aside from Tekken 7 has Heihachi being a complete shit human being to anyone but himself, not counting that he was power hungry and imprisoned Jinpachi and threw off the cliff his own son. That and tried to kill Jin that he trusted him, Heihachi was clearly aware of it, but decided to kill him. Tekken 7 has the propaganda from Harada that fanboys him (even if didn't create him, Seichi Ishii did)and wants his own view to be true. You fell for it like a fucking idiot. The reality is that Heihachi was written to be evil, while Kazuya not, (Tekken-Tekken 2) . Kazumi was never meant to exist, outside of easter eggs, she was supposed to die from childbirth causing Heihachi to resent Kazuya. The motion picture movie is accurate on that. Devil was another vital portion of Tekken that was excluded, when Harada flanderized Kazuya in being the same as Devil when clearly they're not.

@@arbiteras Dude, he's the writer. He's not the one who spearheaded the series(is the VF dude even around anymore?), but he is the one in charge atm. We, as players do not get to pick and choose what's canon or not, nor is Harada malicious in his retcons. Once you look close enough, you'll realize that Harada is retconning stuff every game, ever since he took over for T4 like 15 years ago. Yeah, he's a Heihachifag, that's hard to miss and since he wanted this game to be Hei' Man's sendoff, he also wanted to give him some depth beyond that of a sidewalk puddle. Perhaps a fighter ain't the sort of game you should comb for deepest lore.

That's because the old writers are gone indeed, that he should keep their original writing intact. But he didn't care. He credits himself as the guy that made Tekken famous, when others did do it. He lies and insults his customers, not really the guy fit for PR. "He is retconning stuff in every game" Most of the lore (T1-T2) has remained intact until T7 was announced (Post-TTT2), like Jinpachi being the source of Devil (stated in T5, was so until T7) in T6 Jinpachi was said being the one that brought the Devil in the Mishima family (coherent with T5, but it's a retcon) to blantly say that "Jinpachi has a ghost" when it's clearly not, when you replay the fucking game you clearly see the old man being "Devil sane" , like with Devil Jin dialogue. He's the one responsible for Lars being the protagonist over Jin, so it's him to blame why Jin has turned overnight evil (and making Heihachi look like a footnote), and the conflict that T6 hinted with the "twin stars" shit plot lead nowhere, with Lars beating Azazel, Jin beating Azazel and disappearing. Then in T7 Jin did this for nothing as Zafina has the Azazel orb, way to make T6 matter. Young Heihachi was a fucking beast, after this event he would confront his father (Jinpachi) and overpower him which he would then imprison at the bottom of the temple. In Tekken 1 he was even named as the strongest man in the world.

let's see if i have a better understanding of the Hachijo Clan. They had a vision that Heihachi would become a threat to the world, and Kazumi would be involved. But in trying to prevent it, their actions guaranteed it, resulting in Kazumi's death, and the damnation of the Mishima clan

Heihachi - Puts all his skill and power to deal lots of damage Kazumi - heals what you did in 5 secs and deals twice damage you did to her in just a move of a finger I just described this fight for you (on easy mode)

Honestly I feel like all Tekken 7 did was push the questions even further back.... Now instead of wondering how Kazuya got the Devil Gene, now I'm wondering how Kazumi got the Devil Gene..... HOW DID IT ALL START?!?! The Devil Gene originated from Azazel... So did the Hachijo family somehow encounter Azazel?... At the end of Tekken 3's opening intro, it shows Jin being branded with that tattoo on his arm by a spirit... Could that spirit have been Azazel?... If it was Azazel, did he do the same thing to someone in the Hachijo family and that's how it all started? Tekken is making it seem like the Devil Gene literally just picked a name out of a hat & just went with whoever the unlucky fucker was... and now we're here lol

The English Tekken website states that Kazumi was conflicted between her love for Heihachi and his goal for world domination, him being the Mishima Zaibatsu h ead at the time, but the scene before the fight with Kazumi stating "You will one day become a threat to this world." and Heihachi responding with "What are you saying...?" contradicts the description on the English website, in fact, it more describes the alleged (since I can't translate it at all) description on the Japanese Tekken website, according to a comment by Kurisu to Random Guy's comment on TEKKEN 7 Story Mode - Heihachi vs Kazumi Full Fight (1080p 60fps) PS4 Pro, where the other side of the conflict was, not Heihachi already being evil, but Kazumi's orders from the Hachijo clan. If you think about things realistically, NOBODY starts off evil.

To elaborate, for a man who took over his father's company and imprisoned him for the sake of world domination before this, you'd think Heihachi would understand what Kazumi is talking about, but instead, he was confused as to that and why she's trying to kill him, plus he genuinely loves his wife so he has no reason to hide life-changing information from her.

Heihachi shown his true nature as his alignment in Tekken series is Neutral/unwillingly Neutral good,not evil and neutral evil

I'd say Chaotic Neutral. He tries to be good, but too many unforseen circumstances cause him to make rash decisions that bite him in the ass later.

this makes me wonder if the whoel of teeken is off due to a misunderstanding or not understand how to change fate the devil gene in this instance, with kazumi seems that she was in control and and wanted to protect the world and the future showed her what hehachi would become however, its only BECAUSE she used her devil gene to try and kill hehachi that he beacme what she saw which stareted off the events he killed her, thus kazuya hated hehachi for it and hehachi assumed his son would become a threat as well - thus he treid to kill his owm son as well - only proving to kaauya that his father was beyond saving and thus set him down a dark path to embrace the evil of the gene instead of controlling it hehachi meanwhile might very well have become twisted from the experience of having to kill his own wife and son and became the 'evil' dictator we see him to be - the one that kazumi saw in the future - which had no come to pass making the devil gene showed her what it wanted her to see because it too saw how to make two powerful vessels for itself and the only way for that to happen was if hehachi did what it knew he would do, kill his wife and son

Isn't Kazumi the same voice actress for Nyotengu in Dead Or Alive: Final Round? I could be wrong, but it sure as hell sounds like her...

I know it's three years late but no, her seiyuu is Yumi Hara who voices Yumi from Senran Kagura series and Akane Tenjou from IdolMaster.

Thats cause the others were in japanese n the narrator in English. Btw kazumi is ryus mother as to kazuyas mother too. Ryu is off younger n kazuya older. Ryu is jins uncle partially. Akuma step dad to kaxuya n heihachi step dad to ryu. Kazumi disappeared after heihachi kicked hee butt. She left n went back to the hacijos but met akuma on the way unconscious while practicing hado. She then helped him gain strength n fkd him to plant a seed in her cause she was dying. After giving birth to ryu she took ryu to a near by village where goken was n ask goken to raise ryu as it is goki son. Goken kept the secret quiet n did not tell ryu. After kazumi dropped ryu off she disappeared aka died. Ryu then found a secret letter of kazumi or written by goken with a photo of ryu n his mama.
