VERY dumb comment. First off Claudio didnt say DIE,he said DEFEAT. Jin was weakened in all ways at point,literally in every way. Lars did much better than Reina and Tekken 6 showed that Lars is only >=Base Kazuya. Reina is weaker than her male relatives as she SHOULD be. If i had a sister that small i would crush her Its just that for some reasom everyone can fight True Devil Kazuya,anime does such things. But by power scaling even Base Kazuya is stronger than Reina

This is so crazy it feels like a dream. I never expected a fully-fledged Azazel to show up in the series again after Tekken 6.

Loved seeing him again but I don't think I've ever wanted to kill a boss quicker. Kazuya catching his tail was oddly cathartic.

Tbh they were screwed both ways. Both are monsters which are undefeatable with conventional ways, the only two there capable of a chance were Claudio and Jin. The first one with a last resource power and the second was weakened.

This guy lost all 3 fights he's been in 😂 (To Lars, to Jin and to Kazuya, Jin wasn't even fully devil jin when he oneshotted Azazel BTW), I think even Reina would beat Azazel 1vs1. But again, there's devil kazuya too who beat a full on devil jin 1vs1, so yeah nobody there is doing anything to him.

Whats insane is that Kazuya did something Lars and Jin couldn't do. In Tekken 6, Lars barely survived against Azazel and that goes with Jin too except he tried to sacrifice himself to stop him. Kazuya in the other hand just flat out DESTROYED Azazel and absorbed him into creating True Devil Kazuya. As Kazuya fans will say "That's why he's the GOAT!! THE GOAT!!" lol

It does a damn good job of establishing him as the strongest fighter in the Tekken universe, at least until 8's endgame. Between his story role and how much of a challenge (read: nightmare) he is as an opponent, beating Azazel really is an accomplishment, and Kazuya did it with the implication he wasn't using his full power.

I think they're drawing from the same source. There's a few relatively famous medieval illustrations of the Devil that look have the "dragon-skinned body covered in eyes" look. Onimusha also used to do the whole "covered in eyes" thing too. In DMC5, the multiple eyes represent dominion/supremacy, both for URIZEN and Goliath, so it might be the intention here too. Everything else is explainable. Purple for example has historically represented royalty, due to having been a rare/expensive dye. It could also be an intentional evocation of the famous "red oni-blue oni" Japanese trope, so by blending the colors it might be intended to signify an "ascended demon". So it works on multiple levels.

Honestly its just not that big of a power boost at this point. Even base Kazuya was shown about on par with Lars in Tekken 6 Kazuyas normal devil is propably like a 1.25x boost,his True Devil Form may be like 2.5x And the new one from 7 against Heihachi may be somewhere between those numbers like 1.9x Maybe with willpower in a sacrificial situation Lars can just hold back Kazuya in that form. When are much stronger and feel safe you arent gonna be benefiting from an andrenaline boost

It's one of those boss fights where you're the boss. Kazuya can escape juggles, heal health and use heat moves without heat. Not to mention extra strings & buffs he gets

This fight was annoying cause of the size and posture of azazel I could never tell if I was close enough to actually hit him or if I was about an inch away from hitting him so I whiffed a lot in the beginning.

I'm just happy that after being denied of a playable spot in 7, they give one to Kazuya here...

Considering it's story mode and you have to be able to get through the whole thing I'd say it's far far far less rage inducing

​@@Razorcarl He does less damage because he is fighting against Devil Kazuya bruh. Plus it's on the story battle. Try fighting him on Arcade mode on highest difficulty just like on Tekken 6.

Then again we are just watching a video about the fight that I have yet to try myself.

So I'm assuming that Zafina is dead because Azazel took over her and Kazuya destroyed him? (Please don't get mad. I never played nor watched the Story mode in Tekken 8 other than a few snippets)

seeing azazel again surprised me. its like tekken 8 really is trying to bring back almost every relevant character.

Tekken 8 they bring Azazel back. Tekken 9 obviously gonna be Ogre return

They need to dig deeper into the Ogre lore. Both him and Jinpachi's possession were so random in retrospect. That or introduce some new force. There has to be something else in the Tekken universe, given the existence of multiple supernatural entities and lineages so far. Azazel supposedly being dead (as well as Ogre and Jinpachi's possessing spirit) would let other entities, if they exist, have free reign.

I still remember Azazel abusing me and my psp back at Tekken 6 with his tail combo and his fucking laser

all the chars buffed even alisa too, but im not complaining lol
