@@Hawko1313 Blue is in most cEDH decks, to be fair. I can't really think of a decent non-blue color pair/trio/quad that can come close to anything+blue. Sometimes monogreen decks are decent, but anything else really needs blue to get through. Obviously you have some zany decks like Godo but they are definitely the exceptions to the "Blue is king!" rule...

@@Darling-su3ci Nope, the single market is fine, except for vintage cards, and even some sealed products are rising, like Myster Boosters. The economy might collapse, but there still plenty of bored people out there buying magic cards, at least in Europe, where most people still get some sort of pay.

I really like that you paused the game play to read through Zur's Weirding. I've played with it before in 1v1 games and it's, well, Weird. I also really like the Muldrotha list, that looked like great fun.

Zur's Weirding is by far my favorite card in my Muldrotha deck! When Zur's Weirding (or Desolation) is cast early in the game the effect is incredible and this video demonstrated that raw power very well! After a while people don't even bother destroying it because they start to like being able to pay life to stop people's best draws!

You guys completely nailed it with the formatting and presentation! I don't play Cedh myself but it is an absolute pleasure to watch!

make sure you're ahead on board when you cast it! i played it and it feels bad to get denied resources by your own card but you can't fight back because your life total is to low

The real problem with the partner commanders is that Thrasios is by far the best one, so every deck with partners in cEDH essentially has him as the commander plus two other colors. Then the decks inherently become 4 color good stuff which is a subset of cards that's pretty solved what the best piles are. Excepting a few different variables for the meta you're rolling into.

The problem with partners is that they're bad game design that break parity with a pre-game effect that incurs no loss of resources (starting with more cards in your "effective hand" than your opponent). I can say similar things about Eminence.

Zur's Weirding is my favorite card in all Magic, I run it in my Lazav, the Multifarious deck. I don't think there's a better deck for Zur's than Muldrotha, though, simply amazing!

The sole goal of my Zedruu deck is to cast Greater Auramancy, Leyline of Sanctity, Hive Mind and Eye Of The Storm. From there it's just start stacking things like Lightning Bolt, Grapeshot, Radiate etc under it so shenanigans ensue. Or for MAXIMUM SHENANIGANS I also like to throw in a Grip of Chaos, Shared Fate and/or Possibility Storm. Lmao, it gets pretty crazy. Like, 57 card deep stacks sorta crazy 😈😁

I am both sad and happy that Dylan has taken his first win. I am sad that his win wasn't on Oona but happy that he has one under his belt now. I still will patiently await his win with Oona

In my LGS, 1vs1 rules are from MTGO commander and Oloro is legal... if you cast zur's weirding (which I do, signed by RK Post) it's game :) but you gotta be careful, if their hand is filled you shouldn't play zur's weirding or you may not be able to draw any good response to their threats.

I use zur weirdling In my zedru deck haha. Wheel of fortune shenanigans for some nice dmg watching people pay all their life :D

MVP of the game for sure was Zur's Weirding. The no fun police.

Ryan's turn 4 with the counter battle over Godo. Couldn't he have welder'd up the trinisphere first to prevent the counter magic? or am i missing something?

Did I miss some board state that prohibited attacking? How many turns was Muldrotha out w/o chunking someone for 6 dmg?

IMO the best Zur's Weirding art is 8th edition.

This game was ridiculous in the best way possible. Makes me want to give Zur's Weirding the Cyclonic Rift treatment and put it in literally every blue EDH deck I own.

it's really good only in decks that can abuse it, probably. Since muldrotha can cast cards from grave, it's mostly whatever if people discard your cards. They will get rid of counterspells tho...

Doesn't make any less fun, though. Yeah, this channel is all about CEDH, but I play much more casually.

About the delay and red elemental blast: I thought that if a spell has its modes already selected when casting, you can't change them? So when the spell was exiled with delay, it had the mode: "counter target blue spell." When it came into play 3 turns later, however, they selected the "Destroy target blue permanent * mode. Or is it because it says "cast" so you can choose your modality again?

Since you are recasting it, you can choose modes again. See this ruling on Delay: _When the last time counter is removed from the exiled card, it’s cast as a completely new spell. Modes and targets are chosen again. If the spell has any additional costs, they must be paid again. If they can’t be, the spell can’t be cast and stays exiled._ scryfall.com/card/fut/35/delay

The weirdest play that I saw was when Ryan didn't Red Elemental Blast the Zur's Weirding when it came off suspend, he'd be the first person to draw and gain advantage from it whilst also shutting off Garret's value engine.

5:00 - Odd play by Ryan here. Keeping in mind EVERYONE is playing hands up. They have two opponents with two lands and a 2CMC counterspell. Why not weld in Trinisphere first, and resolve Godo while keeping REB? Edit - They're playing helm, so wouldn't it have been game?

Around 8:31, REB killed Muldrotha but less than a second, it appears again with no reason?

I'm not a cEDH player, so I'm not in tune with this meta, but it seems to me like Garrett inflicted an awful lot of damage to himself with that Zur's Weirding ability. Were those acceptable plays?

Life is really just another resource like mana in these games, and most games are not won by a little in cEDH. You either go infinite with damage, creatures (still damage), mill, separate win conditions (think like approach of the second sun), or just hit with commander damage or infect, which even infinite life will not stop. (Pretty sure there is no such thing as "infinite" any of these things, as the person running the combo technically is required to choose a number of loops, so it can always be one-upped by others if it cannot be repeated at instant speed) If a card said "pay 2 life, the active player skips their draw step" it would be busted. Also check out the whole phyrexian mana fiasco. XD
