Let us know what you think about the new Spring design and the new overlay! There are a few kinks to work out and there will be more changes to the overlay for the season finale, but we would love to get your feedback on the updates. Enjoy the video! *MISTAKES* During the editing process, I misread the notes for the name of the talisman played at 5:45 and did not catch it while editing. The card played in-game was a Talisman of Curiosity, not a Talisman of Creativity. Apologies for the confusion and mix-up. This was a production error, not a gameplay error

I love the new overlay. It took me a moment to realize how you were tracking commander damage, because the double zeros were so small, but I like seeing them at zero before any damage is dealt. I also like that the overlay stayed around when there was a stack being resolved. When it disappeared before, it was easy (for me at least) to lose track of who was who, so keeping that around was nice.

Dockside did work this game sure, but Rhystic against a table that plays like it isn't in the game most of the time will almost always bee the MVP of any game. The guy was getting his head stomped in by commander damage, the table should have realized they needed to be starving him for cards to make him stretch to find a way to not die; instead, they just fed him resources until he won. The impulse to just play at the same speed just because you too have a combo is one a shining example of not having read and understood the "Who's the Beatdown". When the faster combo deck at the table drops a rhystic study but doesn't seem to have the answers to deal with an early threat of being knocked out by commander damage, you don't feed him cards unless you *want* to lose or *somehow don't understand how good letting people draw off Rhystic is*. The calculus is pretty simple on this: you slow roll your play by pretending the Rhystic is a Sphere of Resistance like your should, understanding that he has to deal with Feather or die. They are the faster combo so you were always going to have stop them, not race them. You advance your board state as much as you can without giving them gas to position yourself to be advance your game state fast after they're dead it's you vs aggro commander; maybe hold up a little interaction to make sure you could maybe stop what happened in the first game. Once they're out you're probably the faster win vs Feather and honestly have good colors to deal with a creature threat anyway. Pay Rhystic tax. Read "Who's the Beatdown" and learn how to answer that question in every game as early as possible.

Noah Gassler I’d rather win with my Heliod, Sun Crowned deck or Aminatou. I don’t net deck because half the fun in Magic for me is building my own strategies. I’ll pass on a $4,000 net deck of the “best” cards. When everyone wins the same way using Thassa’s Oracle+ Consultation/ Tainted Pact there isn’t a ton of variety in the format.

@@OzoneProductions. In a Doomsday build I don't think Thassa's Oracle is too different than Labman, definitely slightly better. Being able to grab it off Hulk and win via the trigger is a lot, though. Unbanning Hulk was a mistake. Ever since it renetered the game it's been the top deck in the meta. Thassa's Oracle is just another piece in the toolkit, but I'm of the mind that Hulk is the real problem and always has been. Not that we saw Hulk in these games. Like the last pile would have been functionally no different with a Labman instead of the Oracle. Granted, the ETB trigger is harder to interact with than removing a Labman or Jace, but typically when going for Doomsday you build have a couple pieces of protection in your hand or at least build them into the pile.

L C I totally agree. I’m just saying as a relatively new player, commander is a ton of fun. I’m aware of the strong combos but when the meta is Consultation/ Oracle or Flash Hulk those games are predictable. CEDH can be fun when everyone is playing on that same level but when you have every single deck trying to win that way it’s not super exciting. There are other really strong strategies that get ignored. I don’t think commander games are super fun when you only get 3-4 turns max while running a decent amount of interaction. Some of the best commander games happen when people aren’t playing the top tier commanders. I think this channel shows some great gameplay of commanders you don’t see that often that can still be viable. I’m just tired of Demonic Consultation/ Oracle and Flash Hulk being in every game I play. I’d love to get milled out or combat damage or something else 😂

Understand that these kind of games can go on long, and they get very progressively harder to track the board states and stack. Mistakes are made all the time in commander. Just wanted to say, from what I could see on the board in the video, that the Aven Mindcensor misplay actually does change how that last turn would have gone (if not the end result entirely). You only had 5 sources of blue mana at that point in the game (factoring in the Island that was played) and if you had cast the Chain of Vapor to get rid of the Aven Mindcensor, you would not have had enough blue to cast Thassa's Oracle. Still, great game and was fun to watch all you guys slug it out as always.

With that card on the field, you cannot use hulk’s death trigger ability or tutor for any other cards to get that combo going. All in all it was a good game! @lildod9291

He wasn't. They addressed that in the video, but they had forgotten the Mindcensor. Basically the doomsday player cast ad nausium the turn before, and that revealed Chain of Vapors. Since mana was available to answer the Aven Mindcensor by casting Chain of Vapors, and all players had seen the card revealed they decided to leave it in as it didn't meaningfully affect the outcome.

As a personal Boros Feather player it does hurt me to see it struggle. I love the flavor of how it operates, and it saddens me knowing it just stalls so hard in cEDH, or semi-cEDH. However, I do think the deck had a few issues. In game 1, the lack of early 1 and 2 drop cantrips meant Adam ran out of gas super fast, almost culling his chances of winning. In game 2 unfortunately bad draws and no way to easily stick Feather hurt the deck a lot. While the stax pieces helped the deck really just kinda performed like a bad Godo deck. It pains me to say that, but Id definitely love to see a better-optimized build return to the channel

Could you give a couple things I could add to boost the deck? It was one of my casual decks before so it still had the flavor of that deck in it. It might not have looked it but I was very close to winning in game one if I'd lasted to the next turn. I had an extra combat step, double strike spell, and multiple cheap pump spells.

@@Sliver_BoiHere are some cards/generalities I would consider, maybe they won't work for your meta, but definitely worth a go if you haven't tried them already. Denoted strong/favorites with (*). 1. Command Tower, Reflecting Pool, etc... (wasn't sure if there was a specific reason you weren't running rainbow lands?) 2. Command Beacon* ( Feather, The Redeemed gets A LOT of hate haha, have had to recast her for 13 mana before) 3. Chaos Warp, Generous Gift*, Reckless Rage, Soul's Fire* (good removal/interaction) 4. Zada, Hedron Grinder*, Mirrorwing Dragon, Primal amulet (Reverberates on a stick) 5. Guttersnipe*, Livewire Lash, Sentinel Tower* (The damage output gets outa hand really fast) 6. Angel's Grace* (Great save the game against combo decks) 7. Screaming Fury, Phalanx Leader, Anax and Cymede, and Reckless Charge (decent pump spells) 8. Akroan Crusader, Monastery Mentor, Vanguard of Brimaz and Krenko, Tin Street Kingpin (Let's go wide while were at it) 9. Accelerate (It's decent, draw and haste for 2 at instant) 10. Eerie Interlude** (recurring WIPE and Target protection, so buttery :D) 11. Myth Realized* ( was skeptical about this card, but with protection spells for evasion and boost, makes losing feather not such a big deal) 12. Chandra, Torch of Defiance (Just some decent value) 13. Aetherflux Reservoir (With all the spells you cast it just makes sense imo) 14. Runaway Steam-kin* and Braid of Fire (mana/ramp: most go Runaway steam-kin, I really like both) 15. Aria of Flame and Aurelia's Fury (some controversial cards, I personally do not like Aria of Flame) Sorry for the long winded list. I have a couple cards in mind for what could be cut from your deck list, however that could just come down to difference of opinion. Hope you find something in that list useful!

I think I must have uploaded a slightly off list. I changed it a few times at the end. I do have a good handfull of rainbow lands in the deck. I used to have things like guttersnipe and heroics but they never really worked in our games. I did honestly forget about Angel's grace, mainly because I dont own one and I never play white. I also believe I have reckless rage and accelerate in there.

@@Sliver_Boi yeah heroics are one thing. definitely meta dependent. Yeah I would do some research into white cards. Definitely the weakest color in magic alone however I do think it is one of the stronger supporting colors. I would HIGHLY recommend most if not all of the cards I (*) ESPECIALLY eerie interlude; to protect against wipes and targeted removal for all your permanents is undeniably fantastic. Generally, I have found the best things to invest in with a feather deck is card advantage and protection. Feather is already behind in terms of competitiveness but if she keeps getting removed, you can just go ahead and count yourself out of the game.

One thing that bothers me though is why Bill cast his Mana Crypt on turn 1 in game 1, and then didn't use it for 2 more turns. Since he lost 6 life to it, it seems like a waste. Did he cast it to keep it from being countered or discarded, or is there another tactical reason to play it then?

I built it in such a way that it ends up being 'cast a ton of spells, generate mana with Birgi and Storm-Kiln Artist, profit from spell triggers and draws' and it wins me a lot of games. Zada, Hedron Grinder and Moonwing Dragon help a lot.
