Our courts and prisons are not designed to dispense forgiveness, nor should they be! The purpose of our courts and prisons is to determine guilt or innocence, and in the case of guilt provide punishment.

Also studies show that many people that are in prison have eaten sugar. Sugar is much a drug as other drugs. When I was younger my Mom couldn't even tell me to do anything. I have never been to prison or killed anyone. I am 52 years old now and I don't really like anything sweet. I eat sugar once in awhile but I don't react like I used too.

Especially in the USA where the possibility that a life sentence really means that they spend the rest of their natural life in prison? To me the Death Penalty is immoral, uncivilized and dangerous. I am very thankful that we don't have the death penalty where I live. Makes me trust in the state more than I ever could trust one who has the death penalty. I am not even a fan of a life sentence that means this person has to spend the rest of their natural life in prison.

I believe if the victims can be rehabilitated the criminals can also be rehabilitated. Thats only fair. If they CAN'T rehabilitate the victims then there should be no rehabilitation for the criminal. I am sure the victims would have chosen rehabilitation but the cant rise from the graves.
