You are 100% correct... Many people have horrific upbringings... My mother was brought up in world war II Britain. All the bombings and food rationing and years of fear.. she went on to build a life for herself as millions of that generation did...

For the same reason that soldiers going to the front do. They are staring death in the face. It is another argument supporting an instinctive belief in an afterlife.

Yet the Bible is morally bankrupt with justified stoning to the death, public disembowelment, public drowning and burning alive at the stake. Then there's all the prejudice and bigotry that is the basis of infanticide and genocide.

Also studies show that many people that are in prison have eaten sugar. Sugar is much a drug as other drugs. When I was younger my Mom couldn't even tell me to do anything. I have never been to prison or killed anyone. I am 52 years old now and I don't really like anything sweet. I eat sugar once in awhile but I don't react like I used too.

@@jeanhilty8768 Why do some who believe in the death penalty like to act if it is either murdering the person or let them get away with "a slap on the wrist"? Especially in the USA where the possibility that a life sentence really means that they spend the rest of their natural life in prison? To me the Death Penalty is immoral, uncivilized and dangerous. I am very thankful that we don't have the death penalty where I live. Makes me trust in the state more than I ever could trust one who has the death penalty. I am not even a fan of a life sentence that means this person has to spend the rest of their natural life in prison.

I believe if the victims can be rehabilitated the criminals can also be rehabilitated. Thats only fair. If they CAN'T rehabilitate the victims then there should be no rehabilitation for the criminal. I am sure the victims would have chosen rehabilitation but the cant rise from the graves.
