It's not about "sense", unfortunately. It's the answer to "how many people is it okay to kill who were innocent so that you can kill someone who's guilty?" It's a simple fact that not everyone convicted of a crime is guilty of the crime. As much as I would like to say I'm for it, I'm anti-death penalty. If it worked, there would be almost no murder...so really we're just doing it to satisfy ourselves as opposed to any sense of 'justice'. What these folks did was reprehensible in the extreme (Talking about the molesters, just to make myself clear.)

As someone who had to take a class on this in order to work with children, there is no known reason as to why pedophiles become this way, therefore there is no known way to rehabilitate them. There are many that have shown remorse & do not wish to continue to do this. They request to remain in prison because they know if they are around children, they cannot stop themselves. Many even request voluntary castration but still know they will still touch children. As a group, many have requested a closed area living situation where they are away from children & their internet is monitored so that they cannot access anything with children on it. While these people are useful in helping to find the cause & ultimately the cure for this because they show remorse & understand they must be kept from children, it is extremely difficult to do that & keep them safe for the these research purposes.

Why is it when 6% of USC athletes commit rape, 0% are charged and when women air grievances their testimony gets fortuitously lost? Look at your institutions people, they are protecting much worse people than you ever signed up for.

There was a guy convicted of this in Florida. At his sentencing hearing, with the father of the deceased nine year old female victim sitting in front of him at the hearing, he bragged about how the man's nine year old daughter whelped like a little dog as he buried her alive, in a six foot deep trench, in his backyard after abusing her for weeks. He wanted to see the father relive the horror of what he had done to the man's beloved daughter. I will never forget the smile on this things face as he told the story. The guy's name is John Evander Couey and he died in prison ,supposedly of anal cancer, before he could be put to death for what he did.I actually suspect he was eased off this planet but whatever way he left, I hope he stays in Hell for a very very long time. Always look out for your kids every second of everyday, trust yourself to protect your kids and no one else, these monsters are everywhere.

How can judges give pedophiles such short sentences??! The one guy only got 4 or 5 years for sexually assaulting a 5 year old little boy and then he got released from prison and then sexually assaulted a 13 year old girl and only got 2 years??! Make that make sense! Whoever the judge or judges were that gave him such light sentences, even after he offended again, should be held accountable for their negligence and failure to provide any kind of meaningful justice for the children who were assaulted by this sicko and had their lives destroyed because of it. It's infuriating that so many judges give pedophiles a slap on the wrist and it makes me wonder if they are pedophiles too because anyone else would throw the book at them!

It's not legally right, but child molesters receive the worst treatment for a reason. My dad had one who assaulted and killed a 6-year-old girl. That was in 2012, so I (his daughter) was also 6 at the time. My dad nearly quit his job but the inmates loved him and when they overheard what this man had done, they ganged up on him. In my country, murder is 10-15 years. I would not even blink before firing a bullet right through molesters eyes if it was my child :)

@@Bleckyyyy In my country the maximum, literally maximum is somewhere between 15-18 years no matter if it's one or 10 murders. If the prisoner is deemed to danger to the public, they could be kept in insane asylum for longer but even these have never been life-sentences. For one murder, you are in on average a 5-10 years, first timers getting half-off discount. Admit the crime to the police, say it was due to the emotional stress and with a good lawyer you could be out in three years or less...

Is any sexual crime at any age should be life in prison, period. You can accidentally kill somebody, you cannot accidentally rape or molest or sexually abuse somebody. The amount of pedophiles and rapists to get out and continue to commit their crimes is staggering. We need to do something.

The people who make the laws are VERY often involved in crimes like this. Look at who writes the laws.

I know ONE thing we can do....We here in America can perhaps be just a little less PURITANICAL about sex? (I know--easier said than done, I mean I myself am NOT necessarily thrilled with the tolerance towards PERMANENT SEX CHANGE operations being performed on minors, but....HEY! Cutting some kids privates off, is probably better than having them fondled by a "Little League' baseball coach** eh??) ** Nothing against "LL" baseball coaches.....Just thought I would give the Roman Catholic priesthood a break.🙄😒
