TEENS DUMPING TRASH INTO OCEAN COULD END UP IN JAIL !! BOCA BASH | BOAT ZONE

Ойын-сауық

Haulover Inlet in Florida is a popular spot for experienced boaters seeking a thrill. Known for its challenging conditions and strong currents, the inlet connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Intracoastal Waterway and is famous for its rough waves and strong winds, which can make boating hazardous. Despite the risks, many boaters are drawn to the inlet's challenging conditions and the opportunity to navigate through it.

    UPDATE: Boca Bashers put on a disgusting show when they dumped bins of trash off a boat after a wild, boozy weekend. Boca Bash isn't connected to the city of Boca Raton. Because it's on the water, it falls under the jurisdiction of the state. In this case, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is the lead agency. At this point, it's not clear what action the FWC will take, but the agency wants each person involved to do at least 500 hours of community service. Do you think this is enough?

    I get it, I'm an environmental scientist by trade and a surfer and fisherman by hobby, but that's a straight up authoritarian nightmare scenario you just created in your head that is purely emotional and completely disproportionate. Jail time and surrendering your boat? Sounds like you'd prefer to live in some kind of dystopian commie nightmare like China. The punishment should always fit the crime and we should never let the government abuse its powers like you suggest, Mr. Mao.

    Coast Guard doesn't really handle these cases, this will fall on FWC, Coast Guard is more focused on the more serious offenses i.e. drug/human smuggling and the at sea water rescues as that's what they're mostly trained for. They leave the small level offenses that happen within inlets and/or the immediate coastline to FWC and any local Sheriff's Offices as they have overlapping jurisdictions.

    I understand you guys took the video of the punks throwing trash overboard. You guys are entitled to up to 50% of the fines the owner gets. I've been an offshore vessel Master for 45 years, I never tolerate dumping anything over the side by my crews. Here is the regulation you use to collect. Title 33 1908(a) 1908. Penalties for violations (a) Criminal penalties; payment for information leading to conviction A person who knowingly violates the MARPOL Protocol, Annex IV to the Antarctic Protocol, this chapter, or the regulations issued thereunder commits a class D felony. In the discretion of the Court, an amount equal to not more than ½ of such fine may be paid to the person giving information leading to conviction. So it was Trysail Halcyon Holdings LLC, look up the address. I've seen a crew member get $2.2 million, another got $300,000. Report your information to the USCG in Washington and tell them about Title 33 USC 1908(a)

  • @joenord

    @joenord

    15 күн бұрын

    Not a Florida thing - federal thing. Boats which are US federally documented are required to show the vessel name and home port on the stern, that is their registration, and the combination of home port and name is always unique. The official certificate of documentation must be carried on the vessel. Federally documented vessels MAY also be state registered (taxes, limitations of time in state), but here they are forbidden from displaying the state registration letters, but do need to carry the state registration. Going mostly from memory here, but the gist of it is that if you're federally documented, that wins.

    9:42 Those rip tides must be incredibly fierce, he wasn't making any headway. Super scary feeling getting caught up in them. 😓 How hard is it to put your damn trash in a bag until you're on land and toss it in the garbage? So lazy and to cause such adverse reactions to wild life in the ocean.

    jail is the wrong answer for this. court order them to pick many multiples of the amount the dumped under supervision by a court appointed officer with the officers wages during the cleanup being charged to the offenders.

    Most boats just pump bilge water over the side. Boats also put exhaust gasses directly in water, especially outboards. Most are over reacting about this like a lynch mob. You should see what big ships pump and throw over the side. Social media judge jury and executioner. Former ocean going tug crew member here.

    Well they are rich kids. where are the parents. They wont get Jail time but the kid running the boat is responsible along with the parents. A good stretch of Public service and suspended drivers licenses along with max fines should be in order. maybe a judge can revoke the boat regisration for a year.

    Rich Kids: Mommy and Daddy will get me off without a problem because we are rich! Impound the boat for 1 year at the owner's cost (cutting it up was a bit harsh in my previous comment on another video), fine the BOAT OWNER $10,000 a month until all community service is completed, not just their kid. The boat owner needs to be held liable for releasing the boat into the hands of idiots, so fining him big will MAYBE get the point across. But down there where there is more money than brains, highly doubtful. I'm taking the under bet that any punishment has any effect at all. LOL Look what fining Trump does: absolutely nothing.

    Next time we see this boat in the news it will be because they hit a channel marker at 2am and killed a bunch of people! I can hear mommy and daddy now, my little Johnny would never do such a thing he’s a good boy. It’s always someone else’s fault! Don’t get your hopes up for any punishment for these kids, it will get swept under the table until the news dies down then the parents will pay a fine then it’s over until next time. Remember it’s BOCA not Delray big difference!
