If anyone's curious where the footage of the boys on the island came from, they did a documentary in 1966 that's on KZread where they went back to the island and did a reenactment of their time there one month after their rescue.

If a person watches the video in full that information is stated.
Peter is a close friend of mine. we were working together in NSW Australia running almonds farm we talked about the island 'ATA. I told him that I had run away when I was 10 years old, working in an island 🏝 near Tonga 🇹🇴 Tapu called Polo'a but when I was 12 I end up going on a deep water trop line fishing boat and weather was rough and the Skipper decided to hide behind 'ATA I end up swimming to the island to have a look and I can't get back but there able to rescue me back 😅 now I'm living here in Australia 52 years old having kids and grandchildren but never share with them this story that Peter shared with me I'm thinking of sharing the video with them one day RIP PETER 🙏 YOU ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING HUMAN BEINGS I COME ACROSS

What prevention from sharing the story? Confused.
Best story I've heard on a long time!! Great job telling it.
Such an amazing story. We need MORE amazing uplifting stories like this.
Astounding survival story! Thank you!
An absolutely astounding story, those young men are some of the most resourceful and creative and proud I have ever heard about, amazing how they lived over a year starting with nothing but determination, made for TV type stuff
This should be a movie. Thank God they all survived. Wonder how they all are now if they're all still with us..❤❤

Hollywood studio behind 12 Years a Slave wins rights for ‘real life Lord of the Flies’ New Regency will bring to the screen the true story of six Tongan teenagers who survived for 15 months on a remote Pacific island in the 1960s.
Amazing tale and exceptional presentation. I've enjoyed every second of it ✌️✌️✌️
Kudos for pronouncing their names
Thank you for that enthralling story it felt like a Disney movie I might have watched as a kid! Great job

Doing rebellious and stupid things is inspiring. You have to be kidding.
Awesome story how they stayed together n survived. Amazing, nobody can understand 15 months stuck with nothing n other people to take care of or watch of your shoulders 24/7 . I hope karma has blessed them for what they went through n survived, again amazing
Traffic narration I enjoyed this immensely.
Enjoyed very much, thank you and well done.
This was a groovy video
This is a great story and told very well.
great story
Thank you for sharing about these resourceful young men.
Thank God they were finally rescued. Hope all are doing very well now.
Tonga like Fiji is a deeply Christian society, no doubt that humility and faith despite teen rebellion served in this crisis.

What an amazing story
Beautifull story🌞
Outstanding
All boys could do this. But you throw ONE female in that group and it ALL falls apart.
They made the best of a bad situation.👏❤️🇺🇸
great adventure..congrats boys
Backstory: Sons of Priviledge. Rich kid's Boot Camp. Very, very interesting story. Id love to see a folliw up on the young men today..I truly hope they made it. You need both Heart and Brains to succeed.
Funny how the stolen boat owner was furious to the point of imprisoning the boys and yet when offered money He became so forgiving. Those boys were much better off far away from humanity.

Your response shows the problem with kids now. They stole his boat and destroyed it so they definitely deserved their punishment and needed to repay for the boat. They learned a harsh lesson for stupid actions

Yeah because he lost out on a boat...he wanted compensation for his shit...ain't nothing wrong about it..they stole from him and he want what's his...don't let sympathy cloud ur judgement...what's right is right...what's wrong is wrong...plus if they never stole his boat then they wouldn't be in the position they was in...everything started with the boys stealing that boat...and got stuck and ppl wanna look past the fact that they were thieves and karma caught up with them...but ppl want to make documentaries and feel sorry for them
the key was the leadership emerging.
@annakeye

The key was their willingness to work together which also resulted in the oldest boy being looked to as a leader.
Well done and great use of the original footage it's all very organic. Real life Lord of the Flies. Except if the boys said that in front of the nuns they would get a lickin' for taking the lords name in vein lol
Another example of the lasting effect of missionaries…thank you, nuns…😊

The nuns of the 1960s were an awful, unhappy breed of frustrated women among whom a significant number relished in their power to make children miserable.
Wow that was epic
Great Story 👍
Ende gut - alles gut .. vernuenftige Erwachsene & lucky guys...
Amazing story
An accidental Adventure of a Lifetime! Hard to imagine EVERY part of it, even the end story of having to think of a way to keep out of jail was sort of exciting. Of course their tale can only be called a modern day Lord of The Flies except it's not fiction. I have a feeling those ships that didn't stop to investigate their fires also were worried about escaped convicts. Somehow Luck DEFINITELY was in their side for about two years straight, including the dude's broken leg healing well. Other than ships not stopping sooner it was just a string of incredibly fortunate incidents, one after the other (and not unlike a Disney movie). Come to think of it, who knows if those ship's crews were good people and would have "helped" in the same way?
Thanks you
I knew them, they still jailed them when they were located. We all protested and the boat owner withdrew the charges. It was sick to the core that humans could jail them after going missing for so long. It was over the fact the boys stole the boat or motor and when found the owner still wanted them charged. We had funerals for them. Their families were looked after by locals at these sad times. Channel 10 Australia run by Rupert Murdoch did a documentary on the story. I still remember they were like movie stars.
It would be nice if you explain in more detail where this island is-was.
These boys looked much older than 16! More like mid 20's.
Just about everything goes wrong when you go into the sea, an endless line of unforeseen circumstances seem to be the norm. I'm staying on the land the sea never interested me anyway. Everyone has to make their own decision.

If they left in June 1965, their 15 months on the island would end Sept 1966...NOT 96.
What's the name of the documentary?
I can't believe that captain still wanted to press charges. What an A-hole
This would be a great idea for a movie...starring the rock of course
Where is this? I want to spend the rest of my life there
Very annoying flickering white dots on the movie. Why? They are described as young boys for the purpose of exxageration. Teenagers are not young boys.
I wonder how they managed to shoot those film clips?
@BJustChillin420

If you read the top comment it answers that question
Why the flickering effect turned off as it was a distraction to what I could’ve been a great story you need to rethink
So they simply just lived as they did their entire life. Next make a documentary about european teenage boys that managed to stay alive living in a city the same as they grew up in.
Where are they today sequel.
So much for the awful story in Lord of the Rings. These boys cooperated and helped one another to survive.

Amazing! The boat guy is of Satan that’s why he try to isolate them more! But The Lord is MIGHTY
If you like this, I invite you to listen to the audiobook "Endurance: Shackleton's Incredible Voyage", read by Alfred Lansing. Absolutely brilliant.

Leave it to the Catholics to make life unenjoyable.
Super resourceful and creative? I don't know....I'll give them 5 out of 10. Now collectively Gilligan and his friends were tremendously more resourceful. Their structures mimicked real life as well as their recreations of every possible modern convenience Inc. Apliances like a blender, refrigerator, stoves. Even the food they ate resembled a standard diet. I give them 10 out of 10! Interesting that we crave Island vacations a pay a pretty penny for them so that we may enjoys hobbies and/or leasures like fishing, hunting, hiking, relaxing on the beach. Then when we find ourselves on a long perhaps permanent VAcation we only want to escape home????
What would happen if six teenage girls would get stranded on an uninhabbited island?.. 🤔
AI script writing. annoying.
If it had been 6 girls there would have been 1 survivor. Lol
I Wonder 🤔🤔 if it was 6 brave girls ... What will be the outcome 🤣

They would have built a shopping mall with a handy tool, qtips and a shoestring. Then they would all come and shop there.
Fools… zero sympathy
Wow that dude's voice is boring. I'll pass on this one.
Tip: Latterly I get turn off videos with USA dialect voice overs. Try using formal English dialect voice overs. I hear that USA or Canadian draw and get turn off and leave and search for something not containing American draw. It annoying. Give it ago and see what's get and retains viewers the most.
