[TECH] ZEISS Flektogon 20mm F2.8 // FUJI X-T3

I am doing a review of the Carl Zeiss Flektogon 20mm F2.8.
Choosing a lens regarding its defaults rather than its qualities. Vignetting, distortions and other chromatic aberrations are welcome! (Really!)

    Thank you! I only have some vintage Zeiss lenses with a cheap speed booster to emulate a full frame sensor. To me, Fuji color science and old Zeiss lenses is perfectly match!

    How is linear distortion across the frame? Would you consider for architecture/interiors/urban style?

    Merci !

  • @Skopefilms

    @Skopefilms

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hi! It seems that the difference is in the treatment of lenses. MC is Multi Coated, so the lens has less light reflections and a much better quality at the end.

    You’ve demonstrated this lens beautifully! Does using a speed booster add to the swirly character of the lens? I’m struggling to see the swirly character as pronounced on other reviews, so I’m wondering if you just happen to have a particularly swirly lens or the speed booster is adding to the character…?

  • @Skopefilms

    @Skopefilms

    Жыл бұрын

    Thanks so much! Yes it adds to the swirly character! The crop removes about 10% of the widness so the speed booster helps to have the complete field of view and the complete swirly character. The reviews are often made with apsc cameras with a simple adapter (with no lens in it) With that Pixco speedbooster it corresponds to a full frame camera and therefore has a wider field of view. If you watch some reviews with full frame cameras, it has to have that swirly character.

    Super cette vidéo! Quel est le matériel (marque/modèle) que tu visses sur l'objectif entre 0:09' et 0:14'? Et dans quel but utilises-tu ce matériel? Merci!

  • @Skopefilms

    Merci beaucoup !

    @@Skopefilms I own this lens and love it! Only problem: Cant focus to infinity. Tried various adapters and cameras. So I guess its something about the lense? I also noticed I can go closer than 19cm for close focus. More around 15cm.

    @@elitefamilyparkour Hi! I have no problem with the close or infinite focus. Even with an adapter, my close focus is about 19-20cm. Do you use any adapter? What camera do you use? I am afraid that the problem comes from a lens or a group of lenses that is not in its place or poorly screwed.

    Hi! I simply had the Flektogon attached to a Pixco reducer on my Fuji xt3. For the mod initially it was a focus ring from followfocusgear but after using it a lot I figured it wasn't a great solution, the ring slips a lot when it's hot. Finally, I attached a step up ring in front of the lens to have the same diameter on all my lenses
