Hello there sighbored and the cleaner. Again good insight on the cam chain tensioner. But how would we know when the automatic cam chain tensioner starts to fail? Can we detect the issue from the sound of the engine etc?

If you check out the Ninja at the workshop #23 video, The Cleaner checks my tensioner, because you can hear the loud ticking sound which indicates the timing chain is running a bit loose thus making that sound, so need to check if the tensioner is OK, there is no way to know how much tension is needed without opening up the the top (like during VC check).

I have a 2020 650 and I hear this noise only when I’m accelerating. It’s kind of a “swishing-ticking” noise.. I’m guessing it’s the CCT (cam chain tensioner) as well?

If it's a loose CCT you should be able to hear it even on idle.. What's the mileage on the bike? If it doesn't sound normal best to have a mechanic take a look at it..

Yeah you can stunt with just about any bike, I would recommend Google the stunt setup for Duke 200 and see what you need to do to make it setup for stunting.

Well, I wouldn't know what the right tension is by pulling and pushing on the on the chain. Wouldn't it be enough to adjust the cam chain tensioner to the point were cam chain don't hit against the motor housing when the motor is running?

What The Cleaner was trying to show is that the chain must be tight fit without much slack on the chain, you can't tell if the tension is enough without opening up the case to check, or go buy some "feeling" when you tighten the tensioner.. The only proper way to check and tighten is by visual look. If it's tight with no slack then you are good, it's not like a drive chain to the rear wheel that has room for slack because of the flexing and rider weight.

If you see the last 'ninja at the workshop" video, you can see that my tensioner was a bit loose, and see the chain have some slack, then after the tension was corrected, there was no slack.

Auto CCT ni dia ada spring dan gigi, jadi bila tension jadi longgar, spring akan tolak satu gigi kedepan jadi tensioner akan ketat balik. So kalau spring rosak atau pergerakan gigi tu lekat then tension jadi tak betul dah. Kalau manual tu tensioner kena ketat sendiri, tapi macam mana nak tau bila kena ketat, jawapannya ke buka tengok.. Ada mekanik yang banyak ilmu sihir boleh "feel" ketat ke tak tanpa buka, tapi tak tepat, kalau rosak owner yang tanggung bukan mekanik..

Normally it cannot be too tight because it is spring loaded, so the spring has a fixed tension and will only become looser as time goes on, not tighter. Unless you change the spring with one that is too long/too stiff, which is rare thing to do. My guess is the extra tension with west out the timing chain.

@@thesighbored hello, thank you for your time, but I did this all well and nicely, the ticking disappeared, but I rode the engine for about 60 km and suddenly the motorcycle stopped and I could not start it, when I connect it, it takes the power and it doesn't start after hearing a tic tic under the tail, could you tell me what it could be, thank you very much

@cristianbuliga8629 Unfortunately I cannot help you with that, I'm not a professional mechanic.. My advice would be to take it to a trusted reputable mechanic to be fixed. Don't try to ride it/start it in case that makes the issue worse.

Sebab auto akan kekalkan tension yang betul tanpa perlu adjustment dibuat. Kalau manual kena selalu check dan adjust, nak check bukan senang atau pakai trick2 seperti dengar bunyi untuk adjust, kalau nak buat betul kena buka sampai ke timing chain dan check..

As for the flag I'm not sure why it's similar (maybe show middle finger to colonist Brits at that time 😂) but the design and colors do have their meaning & representation on the flag. I'm not going to explain further as I'm sure Google has it. 😁
