What speed was you going when breaking? And does the bike make a difference weighing 234kg? Please just asking as my friend passed away on the same bike
@imranbmn5 күн бұрын
So coming from zero knowledge of riding a motorcycle 3 years ago, I did as much research as I could on how to ride a motorcycle. What I also did was that I bought my bike first before going for the classes. So I learned how to use the clutch etc around my taman area to get the confidence. That was my own initiative and I made sure not to go out of my taman area. I didn't want to waste time going for the practical class and looking like a complete noob and having to learn the basics there when I could spend the time to remember when and where to flap my arms. But this is my choice to do it that way. Also when I was applying for the bfull class, we still had to go do the stupid computer test to get our L license. Nowadays no need, can go straight for practical classes if I'm not wrong. But once I got my L, I stuck the sticker on and started venturing further out and even went to my driving school for the practical lessons. I did however find out during my practical classes that my driving school (metro driving academy), did teach complete motorcycle noobs on the basics of riding a clutch bike. They would go round and round the compound and once they were confident enough, they'd go for their first nightmare, the damn titi. Of course, terus jatuh la. I saw a few complete beginners during my practical sessions so I guess that was how they taught them. However I'm not sure if they started on a kapcai then moved on to the big bike or if they started out straight on the big bike because the classes are all pretty much mixed with people doing their first class, last class etc.

Well said man. Can relate it was like this for me too as I came from a complete noob background. However, some of the instructors were definitely more supportive and helpful than others. The way I see it, most places don't control the instructors individually, in fact some of them was a total douchebag. But I digress, I passed and I'm done with it. But I do worry that this might turn away prospective new riders. It sucks when something intimidating is compounded by dodgy practices and incompetent lazy instructors. Some people prefer 1st, some prefer 2nd. The important thing is clutch control. Since you need to slow down on the titi for at least 7 seconds, controlling the clutch and balancing the motorcycle is more important. Most of the motorcycles are set to have a higher idle so you don't really need to throttle it for it to move, just control the clutch.

Do you have any workshops you recommend sending retro bikes to? Thinking of getting into 90s sportbikes like a zx7r or balius 250, but I don't know any workshops that can work on them in selangor.

You can contact E Ocean Motor (in Seri Kembangan) to check and see if they can work on those bikes since the mechanic is quite skilled and experienced. The link is in the video description.

the process of putting the paddock is ez, buat I'm still not used to putting it down, its scary af, one thing of my suggestion is just to put your body on the rear right side of the body, and use you right arm to stabilize the bike and left for the paddock stand
@thesighbored6 күн бұрын
Everyone has their own preference and comfort, if that way makes you feel more secure and confident, do it! As for me, if you leverage the downward force on the paddock stand grip area, the bike is stable, unless the ground is not leveled. I just give it a slight guide to the left as I release the downward force so the side stand lands on the ground softly.

No standard Kawasaki Ninja or Z 650 could go past 230 km/h standard, maybe your meter or GPS needs calibrating. But if you insist it's past 250 km/h you can race with ZX-6Rs easily, regardless of the HP datasheet.
