I fish the surf in south Texas. That is the first time hearing about this. I never even knew I could buy a rod like that. Down here I swim to the third sand bar. Our beaches stay shallow a long way out. But at night we dont swim out, bigger shark through. I use Van Staal reels. They last forever down here. Learn knew stuff from you alot. Thank you all ya do.

You just have to get the blank rod.

My reel seat tends to get shifty, it’s on a Lami SS the green , VS 250 , would anyone recommend taping over the reel seat once it’s secured

Do you have to retape every outing?

Should this work for a casting/conventional reel as well? I tried it with one of my Penn Squalls and the reel seems to move alot.

love your channel but this is batshit crazy 😂. reel seats, boys. they work better than duct tape, i promise. once in a blue moon you might get a cheap rod with bad seat, or a reel that just doesn't want to fit, but it's almost always going to get you a better connection and will weather better than friggin duct tape
