Hey Bill, before I met you, I used to throw the best Mortars!!! Love watching those plugs zing up there in the clouds then watch them drop like a bomber releasing it’s arsenal. Honestly I really don’t miss them that much lol. I catch fish now! Thanks Bill.

I'm a surf rats member. But just came across this video. Man this helped me sooo much. There were several things I was doing wrong and this should help me alleviate them. Thanks

It should always do it. If not send it back for repairs or shimmy the handle with a washer or washers until it’s in the proper position.

Hey Bill, Hook question NJ went to mandatory circle hooks when baitfishing for stripers this year,2021. Do you have circle hook recommendations for live eels? Brands size etc Thanks

I have a penn slammer 5500, if the handle is in any other position besides all the way down, the handle will move forward the littlest bit and snap the bail shut, that might possibly b why the rotor is turnin and catching the line on your bailess Reels, I’ve experienced it and heard from others having it happen on a few different models of penn Reels

@@usobninja14 Thanks for commenting! for all my penn bailed reels i take out the bail tripping pin that is right next the the bail spring. convert it to manual great on all my reels. maybe its just a penn thing but i ill keep trying, i love bailess when it works but hate it when it catches and snaps my bucktails a mile away! haha

@@anthonydarrigo4722 i grease the hell out of mine with Red n'tacky grease, help for a few casts but went back to the swinging around. i thought it could be the handle weight but honestly just think the gears inside are too loose or small for the rotor. just look at the vanstaal anatomy to the penn major differences. love the reel when i get it right a few time but im get frustrated to the point where i might just sell it or convert it to have a bail. i just cant afford a reel like vanstaals or zeebas, would LOVE ONE though! but i reallly feel like the bailess is better in the sandy surf! haha Cheers!
