I was a regular session musician in the 80s and played/supported many bands in both studio and live in concert. There were some super talents around at that time ...compared to the 70s when some of us actually played the entire raft of instruments whilst so called talent sung a song..... but Talk Talk and Mark Hollis were a level over and above many others. Eccentric maybe and even difficult at times, but as far as the 80s are concerned then Mark should be regarded as a Lord or even a God... he was a maestro at the very least. He was original and innovative......very different ......but in the same league as Peter Gabriel, Bryan Ferry or many other maverick conventions of the time. He wasnt easy to work with ...but that is genius!

Have to thank my older brother for getting me into Talk Talk! I was only ten but he had all the 45's and then the cassettes. Once I got my own room I bought the CD'S and probably drove everyone nuts. What a fantastic band!!!
