Lyrics:
Such a shame to believe in escape
A life on every face
And that's a change
'Til I'm finally left with an eight
Tell me to relax, I just stare
Maybe I don't know if I should change
A feeling that we share
It's a shame
(Such a shame)
Number me with rage, it's a shame
(Such a shame)
Number me in haste (such a shame)
This eagerness to change
It's a shame
The dice decide my fate
And that's a shame
In these trembling hands
My faith tells me to react, I don't care
Maybe it's unkind that I should change
A feeling that we share
It's a shame
(Such a shame)
Number me with rage, it's a shame
(Such a shame)
Number me in haste (such a shame)
This eagerness to change
Such a shame
Tell me to relax, I just stare
Maybe I don't know if I should change
A feeling that we share
It's a shame
(Such a shame)
Number me with rage, it's a shame
(Such a shame)
Number me in haste, it's a shame
(Such a shame)
Write it across my name
(Such a shame)
Number me with rage
This eagerness to change
Such a shame

An insane amount of music talent came out of the UK in the eighties, i was a child in Ireland then. Even the clothes all with the label made in England were the best and the coolest. Mark Hollis had a unique voice, so recognisable. May he R.I.P.
I was born in 2003, and this song still makes me feel nostalgic. Masterpiece.

Amazing music is created each day. On Spottify alone, about 60 000 new tracks are uploaded daily. We can't listen to it all, anymore. The mainstream in the 80s was very "main," and exposure was fairly limited to radio, TV and the stuff you could get at record outlets. I still love this song, being an 80s kid. But I can't concede to the generalization that creativity and mastery of art was limited to certain period. It's your opinion, and that's fine. No problems there.

It's a shame (such a shame) Number me with rage It's a shame (such a shame) Number me in haste (such a shame) This eagerness to change Such a shame Tell me to relax - I just stare. Maybe I don't know if I should change a feeling that we share. It's a shame (such a shame) Number me with rage It's a shame (such a shame) Number me in haste It's a shame (such a shame) Write across my name (such a shame) This eagerness to change Such a shame

Yes, Will always love it! Great band! Love and best wishes ❤️
😍🥰❤I started listening to the Band on the first release day, 20th Feb my birthday. Brilliant
This song is just impossibly perfect . Shivers down my spine and a big smile each time, still after all those years . We were lucky.👍
His facial expressions are so honest and clear, that’s unique. Everyone who wants to become an actor just has to watch this music video.
