Take Heart, Nashville: Evil Will Not Win | Ep 778

Today we're talking about a difficult topic - the shooting that occurred at a Christian school yesterday in Nashville, claiming the lives of six people, three of whom were children. We start with a word of encouragement, as emotions are high: God sees this, he is grieved by it more than any of us could ever be, and he will do something about it. We share our condolences to the families of the victims, one of whom was the 9-year-old daughter of a beloved local pastor. The shooter, a woman who identified as a man, was killed by brave police less than 15 minutes after they got the first call. We take a look at some of the rhetoric that's been spreading since the shooting, from news correspondents blaming conservatives to anti-Christian messages of "understanding" about the shooter's potential motive against Christians. We also look at trans activists' recent history of inciting violence against those they deem "genocidal." Yet despite the increasing tensions, we know whom we can take comfort in.

Allie I agree 100%. I used to be a part of the LGBT+ community and unfortunately I got to a point that I was convinced there was so much hate in the world I had to do something about it (similar to Audrey). On my way to do such I was radically encountered by the Holy Spirit and He revealed to me who He was and is and in that moment I chose to follow Him. I praise God for pulling me out of what the enemy had planned for me. God is good and His word truly is alive! Romans 8:28 This world needs Jesus! We must continue to fight the good fight with endurance!! Praying for all those involved and affected!!

I've been praying for mass shootings to stop, or at least reduce, for years now. They keep on happening with tragic, heartbreaking results. What else can be done? You already know in your heart but too many are willfully ignorant and stubborn about legislation to restrict gun access. I'm a full-blown libertarian type and even I've had enough. I actually want to see something change...but we won't even consider trying anything new to try to reduce this violence...

As devastating as it would be to loose my children to such evil, I would be equally as devastated to be the mother of the one that did such evil. To know I created, bore and raised such a child that would grow up to shoot up a school and all in it that she could, would put me into a depression that I would never come out of as long as I was living in this world. I pray for the families of those that were murdered, by my heart cries for the shooter’s parents as well. They too have my prayers.😥🙏🏻

There's a report that her parents would not call her Aiden and she was not to dress as a man in their home. The report also said that she planned to kill her family, and shoot up a mall. My heart also goes out to her family because even though alive, they are victims too. I imagine there's some people who want Christians to honor their beliefs but will not respect ours celebrating right now. Thank you for your uplifting message to remind us that God is in Charge. I believe we are in the tribulation right now based on the earthquakes, government corruption, no love for other people and the persecution of Christians. It will get worse and that's what is meant from the Bible to stay strong and in the faith.

Firstly this video brought tears to my eyes let's pray for all the families going through such a heartbreaking time. I say this with respect, always check your bible and hold no one on a pedestal, even Allie mentioned something similar to that once. Humans can make errors and say incorrect things for example at around 11:11 on the video she says God hates murderers WRONG God is holy he hates NO ONE. He hates SIN the sin of murder. I empathize deeply with the families affected, they are in my heart and in my prayers. =( Let this drive us to pray for the world lord and for our hearts to be filled with more love and not hate.

I also feel like this hit me extra hard. I don’t know why. In the past I’ve felt grief for the parents, children, teachers etc but this just hits differently. I feel the grief but it’s more an anger that I feel. I’m furious and I don’t know why. Every time a child is murdered it makes me mad but this time I’m seeping with anger. Maybe it’s because my oldest will start prek in August at a private Christian school. Maybe it’s the boiling point for where we are in the world and just so angry that this is a direct cause of the lie every single secular person is spewing. Maybe it’s righteous anger manifesting in believers. I don’t know what it is but I’m furious. I have so much anger towards every terrible person offering that monster an excuse and blaming her parents and the school. I have so much anger towards the unGodly pushing the lie and celebrating mental illness. I want to see my children grow up and experience being mothers one day but each day draws me closer to begging Jesus to come back because the evil is so strong in this world.

I believe a major reason this is hitting harder is because with all the other stories the victims are respected and treated as such but in this case those that were killed and victimized are cast aside for the defense of evil committed by someone representing their ideology. My family and I experienced an unexpected tragedy two years ago (my elder sister passed away), so I understand the questioning of God's love. All you can really do in times like these is lean on Him more and refuse the temptation of allowing Satan into your heart to corrupt your view of God and get you to turn away from Him. Of course, it's easier said than done, but I, personally, found it freeing when I eventually learnt to do this - thankfully, our family drew even closer to God during this time and has fared way better for it! "Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken" - Psalm 55:22

The Bible says the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy. If He stops every evil, would we really have free will? Look at the enemy, he’s the one who was able to take those lives, why? That’s the question we should be asking. People say God is sovereign- yes he’s the beginning and the end and he is Lord but we have dominion over this earth which is why this world is the way it is.

My only hope is knowing the word of God and that that day of reckoning is coming. The scripture that kept coming into my mind last night after I was thinking of those poor little children, is “let the little children come on to Me”. They’re in Jesus’s arms. We are living in the evil day. Jesus is coming soon it’s just all falling into place scripturally prophetically. Hold your children close to you folks.

Thanks for this. I was a preacher for years that got fed up with "the church". I've been taking care of my mother who's dying of brain cancer since Nov. She's on Hospice now and I'm her caregiver. I've seen numerous miracles yet my Mother hasn't been healed. As this shooting took place I haven't seen my daughter and wife since Nov, in person. It made it all the more real, that pain of not seeing my daughter is temporary for me, not for this pastor! That breaks my heart for him. And then to have all these T activists throwing it in his face! Wow! Anyhow, again thanks I needed this video.

Romans 8:28 is true no matter what! I believe these people are in the presence of Jesus, with the likely exception of Audrey, a broken and lost young woman. I pray that many will turn away from this insanity because of this action. As a mom, I would rather be the mother of one of the victims than to be Audrey's mom.

I often feel very frustrated that we are not able to understand why on earth so many terrible things happen that are completely unfathomable. And then to have such evil responses from people on the left and people in power. So concerned with the wrong things rather than the families grieving the loss of those lost. I truly believe God is almighty. He’s big, just and powerful. Love and sin and free will is just too big for my 3lb brain. I hate that people have to endure such difficult things. I just pray that God and his people can comfort and strengthen those goes through hell right now

Very well done show, Allie, despite the emotional difficulties. It was a well-rounded presentation of the biblical perspective on those senseless killings. It is indeed true that, while God seems to delay in punishing/stopping evildoers beyond what we might, He also punishes them beyond what we can conceive-and does it perfectly. I think John Macarthur puts it well: "Divine wrath is not an impulsive outburst of anger aimed capriciously at people God does not like. It is the settled, steady, merciless, graceless, and compassionless response of a righteous God against sin."

Thanks Allie, I appreciate your take and your discernment. It’s always difficult to answer “why does God”, especially when it comes to children suffering. The need to understand in itself is a trick of the devil, for we can never see the world as God does. This story hits for me as i see it as a crescendo to the gender ideology movement, and as many have already forseen, it leads to death, not life. Peace be with you.

Thank you for those verses and words of truth and comfort - we live in Franklin just some 20mins down road from this church/school. I was literally at a christian homeschool coop at another area church for the day with my kids when I heard this was happening and suddenly felt so vulnerable. I am not personally touched as those families are but it has been hard to process today especially my oldest is 8. I plan to reread that psalms and share with anyone that needs it that I encounter in coming weeks. Hannah not James commenting here.

God will call His own home one way or another. It’s such a high factor that the ones that died knew and excepted Christ, therefore they are with HIM. We will see them again! And very soon! That is a HUGE peace factor. Imagine had it been a public school that didn’t have very many believers and then the adults parish and we never see them in eternity. THAT would be such a massive grief. So this is a huge wake up call if families are not training in the way of the Lord. We will greave and live with sadness but just know, we can know our eternity because the next day is never promised.

Heartbroken & grieving with all the parents. I found out recently that I lost very young cousins during the Holocaust by Bullets in Ukraine. I've really been struggling with the why..where was God when they were standing in front of the pits being shot, and why does He allow these horrible events to happen? Your words were so helpful and comforting. I know I'll still struggle with it and probably always will. But I know my hope is in God alone. Come quickly Lord, Maranatha.
