Conversion therapy ban & single-sex spaces - what will Labour do? Helen Joyce on SpectatorTV

Author and journalist Helen Joyce speaks to John Connolly, The Spectator's news editor about what could be inside Labour's trans policy. During the election campaign, Labour politicians were asked several times what a woman is - with very few able to give a coherent answer. Will their policy on single-sex spaces, conversation therapy ban, sex education in schools be equally incoherent?

    Well, these people don't identify as trans they identify as either a woman or a man. It's perfectly binary, a person doesn't transition to become a trans, the fake gender ideology movement that exists now hijacked the community with perverts calling themselves women. Any real transsexuals know they are biologically either male or female, and dont like invading spaces they know they aren't welcome in or belong in. This trans cult is something new and seems to enforce an ideology of gender as a social construct, not necessarily what's between your legs.

    Why is qiestioning the mental health of a young person declaring as trans regarded as conversion therapy?

  • @slacktoryrecords4193

    @slacktoryrecords4193

    18 күн бұрын

    Because the nut job activists who have captured the organizations that treat these young people, are themselves either gender doctors who want to stay in business, or they’re A G P men (erotic cross d r e s s e r s) who need to maintain the narrative of the ‘trans child’ so that people will see them (the A G Ps) as having been ‘born this way’ like gay people. The children are held up as the purest form of ‘trans’ - they’re important to the narrative. Necessary so that the general public doesn’t realize we’re mostly talking about a paraphilia here. And then there are the people who’ve bought into the suicide narrative - they really believe these kids will harm themselves (potentially fatally) if they’re not ‘affirmed’ in their gender identity. Of course, that narrative is false as well.

It would have been their first life experience of a proper athletics competition at the local athletics arena. One of the four 'girls' selected is a boy who pretends to be a girl. How is this fair? There are now 5 boys and only 3 girls going from the school.

    Labour’s ban on ‘conversion therapy’ would effectively ban the provision of scientific psychotherapy to consenting adult patients on the grounds of a quasi-religious ‘identity’ doctrine. Should we say to people with gender dysphoria, ‘You’re right! You are a soul imprisoned in a wrong body, so disfigure yourself with our blessing; we’ll feel virtuous pretending you’ve changed sex, whilst you face a life of painful medicalisation’? Should we not say, ‘You’re mistaken to think you’re in the wrong body. You’re beautiful, good, and truly you just as you are. You may have a distressing condition called gender dysphoria, but people have recovered from this without self-harming, and with our support and evidence-based medical care you so can you’?

    I imagine having your rights guaranteed throughout the vast majority of human history means that you don't have to worry. Meanwhile, women have only had rights to autonomy and freedom for, at most, the past 100 years (out of thousands of years of human civilisation)... So, go develop some perspective and understand that women's rights are never anywhere near as 'guaranteed' as men's rights are.

Regardless of my vote Rosie is the MP and has more traditional truthful views on this and it would have been a bold and decisive move by Starmer to make her womens Minister. Single sex spaces have never functioned in the way gender cortical people imagine. In the equality act single sex spaces don’t apply to trans people by default. The document itself only gives an example of a support group for SA survivors where it could be legal for them to exclude trans women from using the facilities that the event is using. That’s the one example, it’s now being expanded to places like hospitals which goes beyond the original intent of the legislation It’s maddening how accepted it has become to act as if this isn’t the case. It was even tested in a review a few years ago

    How should laws based on "biological sex" be made when the thing itself isn't enshrined in laws yet? Who will dare to enshrine? I mean really material based without arbitrary or teleological assumptions, so no such things like "the sex of a person is the sex recorded at birth" or some potential/destinated gamete producer bullshit.

And why does it still exist? It’s a great deterrent for anyone who may like to speak out.
