Gay used to mean “happy” and was widely used in conversation and written material, but now there is a stigma to this word and it is never used apart from the new meaning of homosexual. I resent this as many others do , now the homosexuals have stolen the word “pride “ as well and also the rainbow . If homosexuals are trying to be accepted in the societies they live in they should try to be more considerate , not everyone wants to see their outlandish street parades with semi naked people and pseudo homosexual acts or want their children exposed to this .

@@wideye2901 …The event probably triggered more anti-gay feelings than any other. When I briefly saw it, I immediately thought the same and left in disgust shortly afterward, feeling that it was likely more harmful to the gay community than helpful. As Douglas rightly points out, it reflects a massive and quite fundamental lack of taste. It also reflects a profound and narcissistic disregard for the emotions of others.

My husband and I wld go for a walk w/ kids on a popular street, we didn't know it was Pride Parade. We stayed. I liked the footwear..it was a good vibe, nothing obscene, a lot of leather but so what. I was glad when gay ppl were given same rights as straight married ppl. But at that time, everyone stayed in their lane. My 6 yr old daughter disliked the colors GAP for kids had for girls, pale blue, pink, lavender, she'd go pick out a hoody from " boys " side, colors- navy, red, green. A salesperson said oh sweetie, your clothes r over there, and I said, she can wear whst color she wants. She wanted to be in boxing. So I put her in boxing. She's a gorgous high maintenance ($$,) nails, long streaked blonde hair, gorgous, who's been with same guy 7 yrs. She's straight, has gay friends. Oh and she's a roofer. I don't believe in gender colors, toys, (btw, she can carry the 70lb loads) but I do think men are bigger, stronger, faster, and that a man is king of his castle. She does the cooking/ cleaning, and pays half the rent. There's so many, if u watch y/ t, entitled young women, I can't wait til they're 30, I'm 55. I'm invisible, but, I had my day in the sun, now it's my daughters turn. They both hsve conservative, but open minded, loving ❤️ 's. I'm really proud of them. If one were to be gay, I'd love her the same. I wish ppl cld just stop being crazy, and the new teaching kids they can b this or that, I detest. Let them figure it out. Just stop. Please.

@freebird1477 I mean, I get that most people have their subjective standards of "decency" and there are vague laws related to one's appearance and behavior in public, but the kneejerk negativity to a joyful celebration is unfortunate... I'm wondering if there isn't an overall pendulum shift occurring among the vocal masses in reaction to the mainstreamification of various culturally "left" causes such as gay and trans rights, accompanied by a perceived overreach and authoritarian tendency. I'm a far lefty myself and identify with your approach. But I'm noticing something like this going on that most leftists haven't been open to honestly addressing.

@eemoogee160 I'm not a lefty anymore, I'm more + more convinced that the less govt interference in our daily affairs is best, big govt= big $$$, and I believe most govts of western world are WEF puppets. I believe in equality, for all, but not equity. I find it offensive + racist. The pride parades were lgb, I'm sure we've always had transppl in our midst, but it wasn't this " a man can claim he feels like a woman and b recognized as such" Evrn tho he is clearly a man. Or if they do dress as women, it's caricature, w/ overdone terrible makeup, sleazy clothes, I think those hate women. And somehow, I sorta blame feminists for their b.s. claim thst women can do anything men can do, it's been turned on it's head and women are being wiped out. The biggest problem to me, is the garbage that started in universities , ppl warching/ believing the lies on TV, and the worst, the lie they tell children that they can choose to b a boy or a girl. And the underhanded way the sex clinics have gotten away w/ no parental consulting. Idk what I would do if my 16 yr old daughter came home after having had top surgery. I can't post it here. It's those things that upset me, about the trans, + transwomen in sports. I don't want to dislike any group of ppl, but that one seems so clearly a lie/ threat/ , and I can't believe anyone supports such evilness.

We have all fought so bloody hard, and accomplished so much to get to a place where homosexuality was finally accepted in society. The "alphabet people" have torn that apart and act in a way that is an insult to everything that was done. They are creating intolerance toward the LGBT community; hatred has increased toward the community. The arguments and accusations made are a slap in the face to every gay man, lesbian, etc that went before them.

Regarding themselves as "celebrities" and the straight majority as the "audience" who only exist to admire them exactly describes the "narcissistic "pride" movement. As usual Douglas hits the nail firmly on the head.

That is the truth. It's now a very Narcissistic community constantly wanting attention. It used to be about demonstrating for equal rights but now the whole movement has been sabotaged by all the others letters other than LGB. "Pride" celebrations to me, are embarrassing. Blatant displays of nudity and sexuality in public is not my idea of pride, our sexuality should be private. I also have a right to my political opinions without being chastised by the extreme leftist woke mafia.

And today there was a pride party with dozens of badly dressed creeps and several trannies, cavorting on the WH lawn. The White House lawn! One despairs....
