My first T-shirt quilt. I’ve been dragging my feet and my son is getting impatient to get his quilt. A light bulb kinda went off , for me , when I watched your video and I’m now inspired to get on it. Wasn’t too far into it as wasn’t sure what I was doing. Thanks to you , I’m ready now.

I have never seen a t shirt quilt that I liked until this design! It is so much more appealing than just a bunch of squares stitched together. I will make one soon! And I loved the graph paper to help with placement. It makes sense! Thank you for your time and expertise!

Great tutorial! I never thought of doing a shadow box for a T-shirt quilt. Boy was I surprised to see Kathy graph out her quilt the same way that I do! One thing that we do differently is that I use a lightweight non-woven interfacing and even then it can be a very heavy quilt! I'm glad I found you on You Tube!

Well I have not finished watching your tutorial yet this is the second video I’m watching Most of my T-shirts do not have anything on the back and I think that’s a total waste of Fabric so I am thinking of cutting out the back at the same time as the front and then just doing a quilt as you go then I’ll have instant backing

Yes, I think so. If shirts were mostly cotton and not stretchy, you might not need the fusible interfacing. You could just use them like cotton fabric.

Hi, I have a question does it matter what color of Fearick I use for the framing before the shadowboxing because I have T-shirts that are gray, black, blue and red. The school colors are blue and red. Mainly it’s for my grandsons graduation open house. He wants to hang it up Anyways I absolutely love your idea with the shadowboxing. Oh my gosh it’s amazing. I just love your quilt. This will be my second T-shirt quilt and I do have slightly different sizes a few smaller ones but then most of them are close but not exact. Anyways, I was thinking about using an off or a white, because I don’t think there’s any shirts that are white with that still work? thank you so much for sharing this

Hello so I have a question. I am making a tshirt quilt. My first one out of some old navy flag shirts. The quilt is going to be 6x6 (36 12 1/2 " squares in all). I have interfaced all my squares. I am just about at the point to start assembling the squares together. However, I'm having a bit of a pickle trying to figure out the best way to quilt this and put them together. I've been trying to find some quilt as you go videos and not sure if that would be the best way to go with this. If I do do the quilt as you go, would I need to cut out 14 inch squares of batting and 14 " squares of the backing fabric? And if I go that route, in order for it to look seamless, would I need to add sashing inbetween the squares? I'm really having trouble figuring out which way to go on this. Can you help? :-). Thanks in advance

I already added a comment I was wondering about the color of the border earlier because I have T-shirts that are black, gray, blue and red and if I use the gray as the as a frame it won’t work on some of them so I was wondering if I could you know what color I should use and now I’m thinking maybe I could like on the red T-shirts I could put a blue frame and on the you knowlike the gray ones I could put a red frame and just kind of alternate the frame colors with that looks OK?

Also, I don’t know how I missed the little white square on there that’s crazy that you don’t even see those white squares in the quilt, so yeah I’m not even sure what color I’m Sashing I am gonna use because I’m thinking about using white so that would just blend in with it anyways, rightI’m really excited about this quilt so I’m sorry I probably left like four messages already. I’m really hoping you will help me out because I’ve already started putting the backing on my T-shirts and I’m over halfway done with that part and then I’ll be going onto the frames thank you have a blessed day.
