Stitch with Lisa Bongean

Stitch with Lisa Bongean

Welcome to Stitch with Lisa Bongean! I'm Lisa and I'd love to share all that I know about stitching, along with tips and tricks that I've learned over the years of being a quilt shop owner and quilt, fabric and wool applique designer.

I've created this channel to be a way to connect with my fellow stitchers! Here is the place where you can learn how to stitch, aqcuire new stitching skills, interact and get social with me, all while establishing a way to feel a sense of community within our stitching world!

I've been stitching pretty much everyday since the first day I picked up a needle and thread; over 20 years ago. In that time, I've established the mastery of a multitude of stitches and I can't wait to share what I've learned over the years!

This channel is packed full of beautiful stitching tutorials and lessons that will surely help you become a master stitcher yourself! Make sure to hit that SUBSCRIBE button and I will see you in the comments!

Now, let's get to stitching!

Fabulous thank you Ladies. All I’ve done is no waste flying geese and then trimmed them down. They were more often wonky so can’t wait to try this. Perhaps when I get over the shock of Alysha pressing open 1/8 seams on paper triangles. Quel horreur👏👏👏🤣🤣🤣

Loved this idea for a quilt. One of my grandson loves grey & red. I might use grey for base & then different reds for the body.

Thank you! I’ve been watching a lot of videos on flying geese and wondering what happens to the straight of grain This all makes sense now! I bought the kit star studded event some time ago and started it this past year. I was a bit discouraged because some of my points were cut off; after watching this and listening to Lisa, I’m ready to take it on again.

Love Debbie Maddy shibori. I have a huge stash decided for a grandson when he turns 21. My mind is still debating what to do. Want to keep large pieces and kantha hand quilting. I don’t want to dye myself, I just want to pet and sew.

Just wow Rachel! A friend of mine just asked me to make a memory quilt and I’m pretty fearful, but I thought I can do this. Wish me luck.

I have made 3 memory quilts, one for each of my kids. It includes baby and toddler clothes including their baby hats, bibs and socks. So cute and so heavy especially since I used fleece for the backing. I am planning one more that includes all of their clothes into one for me.

I love the way Lisa teaches. Clear and to the point. I also notice that she does not bring in a ton of notions trying to sell them (too many details muddy the waters), but often lists what she uses in the comments. Thank you, Lisa!

So, just tried to download the first two patterns in this series. Firstly, the second month shows as the third month, which I haven't even purchased yet. No idea where month 2 went. Turns out that it doesn't matter. Apparently the downloads expires after 30 days so you are out the money you paid if you didn't download fast enough. If I want those 2 patterns now I have to pay the premium price. Never patronizing this company again.

Love that Rachael makes these memory quilts! I made my Grand daughter one from her equine journey in school. Yes very heavy with batting and backing. I feel they really don’t need batting after all the pieces are interfaced? Just a thought!❤️❤️

I’m going to apologize upfront. I don’t want to sound mean. My opinion, and my opinion only. I know you have a UTube live on Tuesdays regarding your Bernina products. I think that is wonderful. I would prefer the Bernina information be kept on that day and not included in your Thursday live. I absolutely do not want to sound mean or argumentative. I just think that since you do a live on Tuesdays, all Bernina info needs to stay on that live-on that day. I love your Thursday lives. They are great!!!

Fabulous mini quilt! It reminds me of Parcheesi game board. I prefer to use triangle instead of squares for the snowballed corners? Great tip re leaving the dog ears as a seam guide until the unit is complete. Thank you, and stay well! Muskoka ON 🇨🇦
