Cut a Piranha for a marksman and sniper drones Luke. It adds another layer of utility and it is more shots over the course of the game.

The paint scheme is crazy cool. Drop the Firewarriors. They look sick but they are terrible. Replace with Breachers or some kroot or another GK or just literally anything else. Oh also if you keep them they don't need markerlights.

I know how iconic the strike teams are and very much appreciate your thematic look but there are better options out there. 2 squads of kroot to sticky objectives or to scout onto mid objectives, another ghostkeel, a riptide, etc. Also, I’ve enjoyed the single piranhas. A lot more units to trade and move block early game.

if you like seeker missiles, I recommend you having a sky ray. Another recomendation are the pathfinders, they are very efficient when you need to guide stuff. They can be armed with ion rifles so they can deal with heavy infantry. Finally, consider arming your ghostkeel with a fusion collider. It is very tough so it can infiltrate close to the enemy

I've been a necron player since I came back in 9th, but Tau is a strong contention for my next force, very balanced looking force.

I feel like the Marker Drones on the Strike teams are kinda redundant since they already have markerlight unless you plan on advancing with the strike team. Honestly a gun drone would let you still be able to guide and advanced since it has assault for the drone carbines.

How do you do the tau bases? I’ve been experimenting trying to get something very similar to that. A base tutorial would be much appreciated

I started one years ago, but I hadn’t gotten much models for it for years, and got about four models over the space of about 6 years give or take, I had two kroot carnivore squads and a krootox, but they remodelled them, so I need to give my old ones away and get the new ones, my lore for them was each squad is part of its own unique coloured mercenary force, where I wanted one of each kroot unit for them bar the hounds I wanted about 10 or more sets for them half for one force the other half for the other

Oh I know how good their firepower is, over 5 years ago I went up against a guy with them, and he utter slaughtered my imperial guard while I only put two casualty’s into his army

In previous codex they were a serious gunline army, they really cant do that anymore but still cant do melee. Just like your experience was a onesided, i dont think was good from a game-play perspective, i struggle to make tau well after the codex release (most likely due to my inexperience). Ive been trying some combinations out. But i find that at the moment tau seriously struggle to deliver sustainable armorpiercing firepower (i.e. something that can deal with multiwound +2 and +3 armorsaves in an entire army, like Custodes, Grey Knights or Spacemarines).

Honestly I don’t know why they’d make a faction that’s absolute worthless at close combat
