In Hartlepool an old man was stabbed to death by an asylum seeker.His roommate was also attacked, stabbed multiple times but fortunately survived. The roommate had complained to numerous organisations about this man, he said he would laugh when terror attacks were on the news. He asked him “if you don’t like here why are you here”, apparently he didn’t like the food, the weather, the people.He replied that he had been denied asylum in Germany so he came here. Will the family of that old man be comforted by the fact that Britain is a diverse society who welcomes everyone? Also very little about this on the national news.

This sounds like a terrorist attack

A female police officer with rank of Inspector. She was close by and assisted by the public, located the perpetrator on the fifth floor of the shopping centre. He raised his knife, she shot him dead. Only ONE attacker, male, confirmed by Police to the media, Ambulance spokesperson revealed EIGHT taken to nearly hospitals.

My (Sydney-sider) suspicions could be slightly off, (and I hope they're wrong) but I'm deeply concerned that of all Greater Sydney, these "alleged" terrorists selected Bondi Junction and that particular shopping centre due to the demographics of the area.. So, I'm very much hoping police will be able to exclude that this was an attack targeting the Jewish community, especially given the current volatility around re: Gaza situation around the world, (and as seen by the world at the Opera House on 9th Oct 2023) . The Cronulla riots and backlash were bad enough, I don't want that kind of behaviour or the dangerous, divisive, loathsome climate happening ever again in our Sydney. We're just over fourteen _thousand_ kilometres from the Gaza area, there's absolutely no excuse for anyone to be committing or inciting violence over it here in Sydney. I hope the officer is doing ok and has as much support as she needs. She's saved innocent lives today but it must still be a deeply distressing experience for her.

Condolences to the families of the victims. With the benefit of hindsight, I sincerely hope that lessons will be learned this time and knife safety laws will be reviewed thoroughly and vigorously to ensure that this doesn't occur again on Australian soil.
