The main difference is the USA is not actively funding or giving military assistance to russia. McDonald-Douglas, I mean- Boeing is a major funder of universities, and many students are not happy being associated with a corporation very complicit in murdering civilians for profit.

What does it mean to “peg back??” The reporter used this phrase 4 times, and I really wish he could have chosen a different phrase one of those times. Does it mean the same thing as to push them back? Sure, I do live in North America. But I’ve grown up on BBC, and have watched countless British shows in over 45 years. I just don’t remember hearing that phrase.

The double tap - striking an area and then striking it again when the rescue effort begins - is horrible but i would also like to point out, its a method used by coalition forces extensively in Iraq and Afghanistan. So widely, infact, that it ultimately had an impact on how willing services and civilians were to try and rescue people and provide medical care after drone strikes

He is only doing this because he went "all in" last winter, failed to break Ukraine and is now permanently on the back foot, with the russian economy likely to collapse if this war reaches 2025.
The European court are condemning Israel and their war against Hamas but they don't seem to say anything about Russia's actions in Ukraine and their continued bombing of civilian targets.

Russia thought it was picking a war with a minnow. Turned out Ukraine had friends. NATO hasn't yet escalated this to a full "proxy war" (there would be no funding difficulties from the US if it had) - yet Russia has lost vast amounts of men and equipment and is on the verge of total defeat.

Ukraine needs to find a way to stop those 'glide' bombs. Russia has 100,000's stockpiled from the Soviet Union and its a cheap & easy manufacturing process to add wings, cheap guidance systems. Russia has mainly been using 1/2 to 11/2 ton glide bombs so far but recently brought a new factory online that is going to pump out 3 ton glide bombs. Frontline troops / defenses have no chance vs that.

Why won't the Western allies name Russia a terrorist state and then take the measures required by that legal status? After all, Russia IS in fact a state that terrorizes civilians and does so at scale with zeal and consistency and with manifest intent to create ever more terror, to expand it to Ukraine's allies and to keep at it indefinitely well into the future. If the legal prerequisites for terrorist state status are in fact satisfied, shouldn't rule of law nations unfurl the legal consequences of that status?

Where was this Sun journalist and the rest of the Western media when the Ukrainians were remorselessly shelling civilian areas in the Donbas for eight years? Who would believe a Sun journalist about anything anyway? 'The Sun' and 'journalism' are a contradiction in terms. The Russians haven't been pegged back. Putin has said that their only intention was to create a buffer zone to protect civilians in Belgorod, but the West never pays any attention to what Putin says. If they did, this war would never have happened.

The 'double tap strike' has been used extensively by the USA and recently by Israel, but a Sun 'journalist' would never point that out. I doubt Russia has been doing this as they've no interest in creating civilian casualties, although they might have been using double-tap rapid succession, instead of a controlled pair, although I wouldn't expect a 'journalist' from the Sun to know the difference. Where was this guy, and the rest of the Western media, when Ukraine was shelling the civilians of the Donbas for eight years? Soon after, there was a massacre in Odessa (dozens of people were burned alive). Ethnic Russians living in Ukraine were treated as subhuman. Their language and culture was being oppressed. A civil war broke out due to the rise in ethnic tensions. For 8 years the Ukrainian military was indiscriminately shelling civilians living in Donbas. If Zelensky honored the Minsk agreement and pledged neutrality, none of this would have happened. The 8 year civil war would have ended and Donbas would have remained part of Ukraine. War is the ultimate failure of diplomacy. Zelensky, Poroshenko, Merkel and Hollande admitted that Ukraine had no intention to honor the Minsk agreements. Who didn't want peace? Who advised against the 2022 peace talks in April? Hint: someone visited Zelensky in Kiev at that time Russia's national security was compromised once NATO began to expand eastwards. Russia clearly stated that Ukraine joining NATO was a red line (November 2021) and unfortunately this concern was never taken seriously. The Russians openly stated: if nothing changes, we will be forced to act in order to defend our national security. Enhancing the national security of one country at the expense of another is unacceptable. The Russians have legitimate security concerns. 20th September, 2021. Ukraine launched military drills with US and NATO NATO is not a defensive alliance. NATO illegally bombed Yugoslavia (a direct violation of the U.N. Charter). We should never forget what they did to Libya, Afghanistan, Iraq etc. Who blew up the pipeline causing an environmental disaster? Zelensky banned all opposition and arrested a leading priest. Why was Denis Kireev eliminated? He was a member of Ukraine's negotiating team during the peace negotiations. He wanted to help his country. Ukraine has a hit list. They target artists, journalists and ordinary citizens. Hundreds of children are on this list. 13 year old Faina Savenkova was placed on this list. Pink Floyd's Roger Waters is on this list. Jimmy Dore (American stand-up comedian, podcaster) and Aaron Maté (Canadian writer and journalist) are on this list. There is evidence that Ukrainian troops have been indiscriminately shelling civilians in Donbas (they used petal mines and targeted areas where there was no military presence). The azov troops trapped in the azovstal steelworks in Mariupol used human shields. They refused to allow civilians to leave despite of humanitarian corridors being present. Russia held a proposed cease fire in order for the civilians to leave, but azov would not allow the civilians to leave. Ukraine has committed many acts of terrorism (car bombs and other forms of assassination). Darya Dugina (journalist) RIP The first terrorist attack on the Kerch bridge killed the truck driver and the individuals in the adjacent car (innocent civilian victims). The second terrorist attack on the Kerch bridge killed two parents and severely injured their young daughter. I have done a lot of research and it took me a long time to write this comment. I have stated a lot of facts and I have given my honest opinion. I have provided a brief summary of events that took place. In order to explain this whole situation in great detail, a book would need to be written. Hopefully someone will write an UNBIASED book, stating facts and allowing the readers to form their own judgments. Everything I said can be fact checked and verified.

In September 2018 Lviv Oblast Council introduced a ban on the public use of the Russian-language cultural products (movies, books, songs, etc.). Ukraine banned 19 million Russian books. Ukraine banned the activities of religious organizations affiliated with the Russian Orthodox churches.
