All the Western allies should feel shame for their cowardly approach to this war. What is the point of your shiny equipment if it deteriorates in a warehouse somewhere. If you can stop the war here and now it is far better than what will happen if you don’t.

Also, towards the end of 2022 a document leaked from the Russian Ministery of Finance that showed that at that time already they were paying out damages for 49'000 families that have lost a member in the war. And we all know they're just paying for the ones who's bodies they recover, which is probably no more than half of the actual dead. Those they don't recover they categorise under "missing" (even though it's clear they've died in an attack), which means they don't have to pay anything. Moreover, looking at male excess deaths, at least 85'000 have died in the war - and we know from the pandemic that Russia likes to divide their excess deaths by about 6 before they publicise them. That doesn't mean it's 85k x 6 dead, but it certainly means they're playing down the war casualties (which is also proven by the comically low official numbers coming out of Russia). Given these facts, I'd say the Ukrianians are counting pretty accurately, maybe even underestimating the numbers.

Russia is not the Soviet Union (which included both Ukraine and the Baltics) so the comparisons here of casualties in WWII and 1980s Afghanistan to today by this supposed "expert" are rather foolish. The reality is that Putin's war is quite costly for Russia. As to Ukrainian mobilization and conscription age this again pushes Russian propaganda by leaving out the details if the actual ages involved. Ukraine just lowered conscription from 27 to 25 years old, so by simply saying they are recruiting "younger" soldiers may make people think they are recruiting very young men which they are not.

Yeh thats why Russias army is now larger than the US army, NATO is terrified of it and there is zero evidence to even suggest 10% of your number. Pro-West/Pro Ukraine outlets Mediazona and the BBC are conducting an in depth study of Russian losses and its way below 50k. This is regarded as the most accurate assessment - and as such is never mentioned, even by those 2 outlets. But still, lets go with your number. Russias armed forces are more powerful than NATO's, Russias economy is booming, there leader is the most populer in the world, and our UK economy has been crippled trying to sanction Russia. Not bad for more losses than there entire 2021 army had personnel.

I don't where you get that number from but it's way higher than 50,000 !! Your list hasn't even included soldiers killed/wounded in Luhansk and Donetsk. Ukraine says approx 450,000 have been removed from the battlefield through dead and wounded and the US in Feb' said 313,000. If you divide that into the 1/3rd ratio you're looking at least 100,000 killed. The BBc need to hire some people who can count.

These stats are from ISW, Ukraine matters and independents working with geospatial also with daily data from the frontlines. Also Russia are 47% undermanned in infrastructure jobs and the state Duma are looking into lowering the working age to 14 and filling hard labour jobs with women this is fact. So this just shows you how many men have been sent to war and also a trying tale of men not returning.

You have been saying this from the first months of the war - Russian soldiers are ill trained, they have low motivation, they have shovels etc. You said Putin had a hand tremor, a mysterious illness. Yet the same Russian soldiers routed the Ukro Nazis of the Azov Batallion in Mariopol, and then went on to take Severodonetsk, Bakhmut, Avdeevka. Soon they will take Chasov Yar. It is the Ukranian army that got slaughtered in Mariopol, Bakhmut, and Avdeevika. They got wiped out trying to hold Bakhmut. When Russia takes a town, you it is not of any worth. Yet, people in Finland and Sweden are frightened ! The Russians can fight a land war like no one else. I see an echo of the Red Army. For combined arms warfare, no one has the experience - drones, tanks, planes, missiles fired from land and sea, electronic jamming, cyber warfare. You are still indulging in wishful thinking when Russia is on the cusp of victory ! Coming this far, the Russian soldier is looking for the entry into Berlin.

Russia (obviously) isn't marching on Berlin or Paris; that's just another story; like America cares about people. Russia has turned Ukraine into a "money-pit", while the media here seem to be trying to claim, poor; broken Russia is poised to take over the world. While Russia is making sure NATO and EU see no profit from all that "investment" in controlling Ukrainian agriculture (and that gas pipeline, now turned off). While it will be simpler for America to talk about Russian defeat... after the nuclear war... but not before.

Save your excuses; more reputable Western sources paint a very dire picture; but that was easy to predict (even before the conflict). So NATO; the EU and those foreign corporations that controlled Ukrainian agriculture and gas get nothing (but rubble). While if you can't find Ukraine on a map, you have been diverted... Russia has over a million troops in reserve and a proven track record in land war; while America and the Western economy... it seems to be going bankrupt (financially and morally)... very poor leadership there.

Speculation on Russian KIA is just that, speculation. Facts on the ground are that Ukraine has changed the law to lower the age of conscription due to lack of soldiers. Russia is firing about 7 times the artillery shells every day in comparison to Ukraine. Russia is also able to freely use FAB glide bombs in large quantities. Russia is able to rotate troops out of front line duty. Russia has been holding and taking ground steadily for the past few months and all signs are of increasing pressure by the Russian forces. Russians appear to be able to strike almost any target in Ukraine due to a lack of air defense. Ukraine troops are regularly giving up and surrendering. France sent troops to Ukraine because the situation is dire. Sure, Ukraine can win this war.
