Welcome to the party! 2008 marks the twentieth anniversary of a love affair between bassists and the most influential (and most imitated) bass combo amplifier in history -- the SWR Redhead.

For more than 35 years I play on stages and studios all around Europe. I had one of the first Redheads, it´s now 20 years old as well. I chose that one, because it had to fit into my car... I played it with a 4x10 cabinet as a 6x10 - fullstack. The 4x10 gave it more mids, so it sounded more ballanced. I love the sound! And I don´t give it away - as well as I got a Ampeg SVT 1000 wits two 4x10 cabinets for liveacts. BTW, it´s heavy metal that rulez! :D :D

I have one of the last redesigned Redhead, to celebrate 20 consecutive years of production. Features: 400 watts, 650 watts with extension cab. 2x10 enclosure, horn tweeter with attenuator, classic SWR tube preamp with Aural Enhancer™, three-band active EQ with variable midrange, pull turbo (ultra-low) and transparency (ultra-high) controls, studio-quality two-mode XLR out with ground lift and level pad, XLR mute, effects loop with blend control, fan defeat switch, tuner send, speaker on/off switch, stereo headphone out, extension speaker out, single empty rack space for effects unit, removable casters, side spring-loaded handles, front slot port, protective front cover (which doubles as stand for tilt-back use). Gonna sell it, maybe you live close... it's like brand new!

This is from 2008 but that guy is so 1998. Looks like an old dude lying about his age trying too hard because he want to date a teenage girl.

@Jeur18 The guy "making weird motions and screams" is Tony Franklin, a British bassist. Next time fact check your bigotry, then try spell checking it, too.

Derek Smalls would never use a Redhead! He would need at least three Ampeg fridges or 8 SWR Big Bens. Probably both.

Tony's atempts to be funny make this video irritating to watch. I'd love to A/B this amp with the Eden Metro though. Having played older models from both companies I'm curious how they compare.
