I have this and have played a lot of gigs with it. Great sound but found it very difficult to hear what I was playing most of the time. Best way to fix this was turn the gain and the mids way up and roll the bass back a bit. Difficulty cutting through (and consequently having to turn up) led to a lot of issues with bandmates and sound people though which wasn't fun.

If anyone is still monitoring this channel or comments section... I just bought one of these new in the box and want to connect it to my existing bass amps... I have 3. EBS 802, Aguilar DB751 and Ashdown 12-Band... all of them only have an effects loop with return as input, no other inputs as they have build in pre-amps.. Can I do it? if so, what's the best way?
@RobMLyon6 ай бұрын
Any effects loop should be fine, I have an Aguilar Tone Hammer and a AG 700 and both have it. You will use the Aguilar for power only not the preamp

Imagine going into Guitar Center and there's Stanley Clarke. Some youngster might say, "May I help you, sir ? Are you a bass player ?" By the way, that SWR wall of amps behind him is HEAVENLY !! The Baby Blue II on the upper right is THE BEST amp they ever made. I own two of them. I have just about every cab they made, except for the Big Bertha.

He Marcus what about SWR Workingman's 2004 bass amp ?... I Bought it together with a Harley Benton BB410T 4x10 cab and it includes a Korg DTR-2 Guitar Instrument Rack Tuner for .$323,21 all in one buy. My question is if the SWR Workingman's 2004 Is it suitable for onstage purpose also? Tnx! Bassman! ;)

I'm normally an Orange guy, but I first encountered SWR when I played the International Blues Competition in Memphis. Most of the shared backline was Hartke, I hated them. But one of the venues had a combo by SWR that sounded fantastic.

Stanley is an original. He won't thump or slap the new technique style the younger guys are using today. He helped to expand the style in Jazz in the early 70's. The greatest bass innovator of our times. He single handedly invited the solo bass idea.

Have never had anything but good luck with SWR amps, went from an Ampeg SVT3pro into an 8x10 to a workingman 400 into a 4x10 and 1x15. Managed to keep $500 in my pocket and saved my back after the deal was done. 6 years, zero issues.
